i love those "beat-the-heck-out-of-whatever games", but the question is: how long will the fun last on them?
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

Taito Monkey Mole Panic, fun game, those poor moles ;D

I love 'm too....of course no serious option, but every time you get extremely frustrated by, let's say your boss, a couple of games on it and you're all relaxed again :)

Whack the mole will probably NEVER die...it's such an elementary game :)

There is a much improved version though, it's like a table (looks a bit like an airhockey) and the flat surface is a touch sensitive LCD screen which can handle extreme violence. You can go several levels or game types. You have the regular whack the mole, but there are some very interesting variations with moving targets etc. etc. Very very fun game to play with 2 people.

Played it here: http://www.carrousel-amusement.nl/?id=HM

(the site is pretty bad, the arcade is very nice in reality.)

Indeed, that's what's missing on that Taito that's for sale, the moving targets AND the hammer (I guess the white things are simply extra large buttons that you "hit" with your hand.)

The hammer is essential. The game I described also used hammers with like harmonica shaped ends (to somewhat compensate the hitting of the players I guess).
