Wait a minute, the settings are not according to TwinGalaxies ! I start with only 3 ships instead of the 4 allowed.....

Let's correct the DIP switches ! :D

Haha, I managed to stay out of the reflection ;)

The interesting thing is that you _can_ see the convergence issue in this picture.

Look at the score letters, these are perfect, but that is because they use only one color (either blue or red).

However the texts above the scores are a light blue, and thus "mixed" of colors. The text "PILOT LIST" is pretty OK, but the higher text is clearly out of convergence. I expect some simple metal strips will fix that easily though.

OH, and about Twingalaxies settings, they are WRONG ! They say 4 ships is default AND the official Twingalaxies setting but the backdoor sheet indicates THREE ships to be the default setting !!! So, what is it now ? Gonna post on TG forum.....

AND the hand holding the camera ;)

It does show how reflective the glass bezel is. I wonder how a non-glare would work.....

very nice score André, but your son is also doing quite well. At least much better then when I played it. :(

You have to "feel" it....

I must say that I do understand why this game didn't do well in the arcades. I'm surprised it even got through the usual field tests that Atari did.

This is ONE HARD GAME !

The way I can reach the 30000 score is go to the first "maze" planet where you have to hit something in the middle and then get out before the time runs out. The first times I tried I thought they were crazy and that it would be impossible to get out again in time, but I can do it now on the first level.

You then instantly warp to the next screen of planets. If the first screen wasn't already hard enought, these planets are close to impossible to complete. So (also to get the top hi-score) I tried the maze planet again. I was first a bit surprised and disappointed to see that it was exactly the same maze, but there was a "little" twist AFTER when you shoot the center thing because then guns appear everywhere in the maze, making me to AGAIN think it's impossible to get out alive.....I haven't succeeded so far and it's very frustrating......
But man will I jump in the air if I get it done.... ;)

New hi-score: 47250, today during a "test-play" after re-capping and re-converging the monitor :D

In fact, I'm _better_ because 4 ships is 1 too many on the DIP settings, it should be 3 as default by Atari... ;D

But indeed, pretty cool...to be on the top 10 :D

Gravitar is one of the best games ever made. Too hard for an arcade, but for the home it is perfect.
