Arcade Lifestyle / SEA INVASION brand new 25 years in a box

I finaly have it
everything started few weeks ago, a listing on ebay from a guy who as a warehouse in Canada, deciding to sell few cab and pinball NEW IN A BOX ...
the guy is selling also at the same time, 2 robotron NIB...while everybody is fighting for them, i take my chance with one of is listing...
a brand new cocktail table, never been open, 25 years in a box...
the game: SEA INVASION...
after a last minute fight with the last BID, i was finaly declare the lucky winner
the cocktail arrive after 10 days at the Miami international airport... my friend ALON is coming to the rescue
10 am we arrive at the depot:
everything start wrong, they change policy for pick up items, and they can located the table... :cry: after an hour of fight and talk they finally find it 
BUT NO WAYYYYYYYYY, the box look damage !!!!!!!!! so we decide to open it on the spot to check it out....i am ready to drop dead if anything went wrong ......
Alon open the box :pirate: YESSSSSSSS everything is ok....they carry it upside down the all time, and the glass didnt broke... i was really lucky
we put the table in the jeep, and back to the game room ....
we are so excited that we just look quickly and power the table and then
:oopss: a big noise come from the cab, a big flash and then nothing :cry:
i open the table, look arround, i spot that one cable got loose a created a short circuit on the power supply...
ok time to go to work ... that power supply is the same as the one i have in my astro fighter "made in japan" nothing compare to the ones i use usually...
a cable as melt during the shock, i was able to fix it very quickly, put it back together ...
test number two....
yesssssssssssssssssss it work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok now i can enjoy it !!!! we discover a serial number on the pcb, the same one is on the cab (570)
the cab is so clean, i never imagine to see something like that in real...
i feel like been in a dream ....
the game is similar as "SCRAMBLE" but this time it's in the deep of the ocean....

the panel is not scratch, just cover with dust ....
what a day !!!! i still cant beleive that this cab was in a box for 25 years, and nobody as ever play on it...
i hope you guys enjoy the pictures....i will try tomorow to post a video of the game runing , and some more pics also ....

I just got that disc from Ebay , $2.80 great thing to decorate the game-room.
when i open it i found a little surprise: some patern to play pac-man

« on: November 27, 2006, 08:49:20 AM » wowwwwwwwwwwwwwi cant still beleive it, right now in transit from north of the U.S to miami , that box, inside a brand new cocktail table, that as been inside that box for 25 years
it was just open by the seller once to take a picture and see if it was working ...
i will just give a few info
-it is a cocktail table
-very rare, maybe only 100 made world wide
-cant found it on KLOV
-no flyer or info, no manual on the net
-brand new
-i will be the 1st owner

Few months ago a received this kit, bought on ebay :
a nice Donkey Kong 3 kit, the pcb is in perfect condition, the marquee is good, the control panel look like brand new, and the bezel as just a little scratch ...
the mission: transform my VS SUPER MARIO bros in dk3...
i bought the vs s.mario from somebody in miami, the cab was paint by the previous owner in whyte
first, i mount the monitor in vertical position...
this is an original sanyo monitor, the sound amp is build on the monitor frame, and as failed few months ago.
i put a brand new sound amp build with a video inverter in case one day the monitor fail too.
i hack the vs mario harness to the DK3 pcb, a bit of work ...
then just add the rest of the goodies, and voila
the game is really cool, i love it :l: , i may paint the cab to is original color one day, but it doesnt llok to bad ....

yep, that right... after some work and patience ...
it start last week, when i was looking on local listing on ebay ...
i spot a VINDICATORS starting bid $1 only...auction for 7 days...
i was like ok we see.... then 2 days before the end, it was still at $1
i started to think a bit, and coz i'm not familiar with the game i played couple of round on MAME..
i loved it
i was watching the auction on the last day, and saw that it was only for pick-up, so i was very confident...
a guy started to did on it 5 minutes before the end, but i fight back and win it for ....

wowwwwwwwww that is not bad at all
i rented a truc, and went there "35 minutes from where i live"
then went back to my place, and started the hard work ....
once i made it safe, first thing i did was to put back the panel , and fire that beautie on ....
i also found insid, protected in a plastic bag the owner manual, in a perfect condition
for some reason one button doesnt work, so i turn on the "pcb test" and start to work on it...
ok, back on and :
wowwwwwwwwwwwwww the picture on the monitor is cristal crisp
that a good news
so i play a couple of time, it is not really easy, you pilot a tank, 2 buttons to fire, one button on top to turn the cannon
but the game is very FUN ...
The cab is in a good condition, some scratches of course, i'm missing the 2 side art.
the cab look like a tank, really well design, and very heavy too ...
the pcb is in the back...
and the audio and test self just behind the coin door...
just one bad news :cry: one cab in mean one cab out...
time to say bye bye to 1000 mile rally ....
well after all it is not a bad loss compare to what i got

jsut before i went to vacation, i was watching something unusual on ebay.
a brand new ROBOTRON cocktail....
this guys have have i BIG warehouse full of goodies, and it happen that they sell brandnew cab once in a while....
dont ask me how they get it... the price went over $ 3000 and i dont know what was the final price.
i just remember that i save the pictures...
enjoy coz you guys wont see that everyday

Technical Area / 1st multi jamma "done"

i finaly instaled one of my 2 multi jamma today.

i decide to install it in my double dragon cab, with 6 pcb.
"multi jamma can power up to 8 games"
first strip the all cab:
a little cleaning, and then add the 6 pcb:
double dragon
shinobi
golden axe
golden axe II
altered beast
renegade
rewire everything
due to the fact the multi jamma run more than 2 pcb, i added another more powerfull power supply.
what a mess
finally add the "select game" button...
here few games runing...
i have another multi jamma with 6 extentions, will probabnly go in my tetris cab ...

back from vacation, back to work 
first my old test bench, remember ?

why PIMP it ? well , i use it very often, and i wanted to add some new stuff:
on/off main power switch
on/off monitor switch
volume control
wheels (to carry that soccer everywhere)
a cool blue neon "pimp style"
and get rid of the big controller and replace it with a genesis pad
after few hours of hard
and a little bit of 
first install the neon and add a new psu
then hack an old genesis pad
add all the new stuff and VOILA
power on
tested with shadow dancer
that a very cool mini arcade to test bench boards, the monitor is a 5" multi sync transform to work on 15 mhz.

i went to visit the DAYTONA race track, and while i was visiting i found out that they have a very cool game room , with ? guess what ?

i dont think it is no better place to play the game in this world
the race track is really cool and very impressive
you can visit it 7 days a week 365 days a year.
i took a full tour, and that day was few cars tuning up on the track .
very cooooollllll

wowwwww, i was in vacation for the last 2 weeks, i decide to cruise around the east cost of the U.S with my grirl friend, final millage: 3000 miles
visit for cool stuff and nice city, a total of 5 states
FLORIDA
GEORGIA
TENESSE
SOUTH & NORTH CAROLINA
But on the way back to home, i stop in DAYTONA beach FL, and while i was walking the beach, i found an arcade place that still have in service old games
was cool to see some of this old games still in place.
sad thing was, few of them were in really bad shape with some major screen burn...
