The bolts on the front panel are absolutely not original if you ask me.
I have seen Nintendo cabs with big ugly metal protection bars covering the coin door. I suppose it was used for just that.
Anyway, get rid of those bolts! :) And good luck restoring this awesome cabinet Ckong.

Awesome cab you got there Ckong :) A bit jealous bit in a good way :)
About cleaning the Nintendo joystick, there's also a video up on youtube about that:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhZ2YAFHCCM

Old dirty joysticks tend to stick a little / don't jump back to center.
I cleaned mine that way. Very clean now and works like a charm again!

Good luck!

Hi Ckong :) I'm the same Joeks as from Nozomi.nl.
The bolts through the sides are original as far as i know. The 2 bolts closest to the back of the cab are for support of the upper metal monitor bar. The other three bolts are for use with a horizontal monitor frame, like the Popeye cabinet. Although most of the time you'll find a DK cabinet only has the two bolts closest to the back.

About the color, i don't know the RAL color. But I should get a paint chip of the cabinet to your nearest paint store to get it color matched.
I found some paint codes on BYOAC forum but those are all for american paint brands. I guess they are no use to us europeans. Could be wrong there though.

The sideart you can get at www.quarterarcade.com. That's where i got mine, for my scratch build DK cabinet (www.donkeykongarcade.blogspot.com) - which still isn't finished  :oops:

Good luck!

Hey Scr33n!

Wow, that coin door is like "New Old Stock" :)

Well, mine is crossing the atlantic at the moment I guess. :)
Sonic 1992 here, was so kind to handle the international shipping for me.
I found an original DK joystick I purchased as well so he shipped that all in one parcel from the US to the Netherlands.

Once I recieved it I will let you guys know.

Thanks for asking!

For large amounts you probably don't want to buy them there, I'm not sure.
But for my needs (about 12 pieces) they were perfect.

www.starcab.net has them: http://www.starcab.net/index.php?cPath=89_135&osCsid=e79af4c0217d8da077f3edcbe9f68959
Ordered them myself for my Sega Astro City control panel and my Donkey Kong control panel. They are located in France.

Good luck! :)

@gyruss
I am building a replica. More about the project here www.donkeykongarcade.blogspot.com

@muerto and supperully
Yeah I hate those extra costs in addition to already high shipping costs :(.
And what really painfull, original Nintendo cabinets can be found pretty easy in the USA for 200-300 dollars.

Not sure yet where that extra 23 EURO comes from.
I find it expensive enough already :)

Will have to wait and see when I can pick it up on monday. :(

Hi Scrr33n,

Good to see you recieved you sideart!
I just recieved mine (well, still at the postoffice because i wasn't home at delivery).

Two pieces of Donkey Kong sideart, USD 54.00.
Shipped to the Netherlands, add USD 35.00.
--------------------------------------------- +
= USD 90.00 (62 EURO)

+ Package handling Netherlands (not customs) 23 EURO.
85 EURO is expensive for two stickers :(

@subzero1970
Thank you for the pictures. It looks like a Pac-Man coin door type if I am not mistaken.
I needed (and already found) a Nintendo coin door.

But probably someone would like to take it from you.
Maybe try the KLOV message board? http://forums.arcade-museum.com/

It is really hard indeed to gather some of those parts. The reproduction art I needed, marquee, cpo, stickers etc. no problem. Most of that I bought off arcadeshops like MikesArcade, Quartercade or Lizzardlick.

This coin door however, a lot of sellers on eBay just won't ship abroad. Found 2-3 other Nintendo coin doors before this one and sellers didn't want to ship it international. Though I never had any problems with things that did got send out overseas. All arrived in good condition.
