Arcade Lifestyle / Exidy Crossbow Restoration / Rebuild
« on: September 13, 2012, 10:46:32 PM »
Anyone had a worse condition Arcade Machine than this and Restore it?

As this is what I have to work with.

I believe there aren't many of these machines over here in the UK any more, Only one person I know of has one and that was imported from the USA

This is totally different build to the USA version, and has UK colour coded wires Brown, Blue and Yell/Green. PSU is Hantarex and the monitor cables suggest it was also Hantarex. Wish I could find a another picture of the same one or arcade flyer

Which is the reason I want to save it, as I've not seen another and the machine looks cool with Crossbow on the front :)

Anyone on here with a machine the same as this? and not USA model

I can piece most of the main bits together to use as templates I hope, and most of the metal is still ok, even some of the wood inside and the monitor bezel survived

Some other guys had taken the gun and control panel, but I have a gun now and I am getting the control panel back for the machine

Shame someone stole or broke the marquee and they deffo smashed the monitor glass

This was spotted on the internet, still having the Crossbow gun on it, the guys up the that way saved the Gun for D's Crossbow Electrocoin machine they picked up over on Jamma+

Greedy Op thought he had a chance to sell a Crossbow gun he had, well I bought it, yeah it was abit over priced but worth getting I thought

Searching the net for more pics of this old place where the machine was located, in 2007 is was pretty much complete, apart from the Coin doors and monitor

Pretty strange seeing pictures of the place it's in, then being there in front of it, wondering if I can get it out of this building

It has suffered bad with the roof of the building half missing, but the original pcb was still inside

My new extension is getting close to being finished so while I have some space I shall start working on rebuilding the cabinet

The Building it was in

in 2007 the machine looking quite nice

By 2008 from the pics found someone has smashed the glass  >:(

2010 and more damage to it, marquee now gone and speaker board hanging down :(

2012 and some gits ran off with the Crossbow, but for the good of another machine ;D

So by the time I get to the machine it's looking slightly worse now the Control Panel has gone and there is abit more Damage to it

Like a muppet I never took a camera with me, or have a decent phone, so I doubt the pics I took on that will be much, however by the time I had managed to move the cab, which is piled on a load of crap and leaning to the side, so had to try and turn it round to get on sack truck, everytime you tried to move it, bits just came off. What i didn't know at the time, was all the plaster from the ceiling was in the bottom of the cab, which was making it weigh more and with the damp wood it was a nightmare, I must looked like I had a Fever, coming out of this Old Fever Hospital with the amount of Sweat pouring down my face.

All the ceiling plaster in the bottom of the cabinet weighed 12kg, adding that weight while I tried to move it ::)

By the time it was back at the Van, well it didn't look much better than it does now

Arcade Lifestyle / No Sleep for 28 hours on crazy arcade trip
« on: September 13, 2012, 06:01:49 PM »
Thought i'd share this with you guys too from July I did a trip more like the trips you guys do on here, no pics though sorry :-[

Couldn't resist this sega....well not sega but Hang-On bootleg but also the first place was to collect some very rare Technics Speakers

Well I was and wasn't looking forward to this trip out

Had to hire a van for the journey, not the best thing for this many miles

Couple of things to collect, though I was also wanting to do a 3rd, but decided on the day what too do but they were all in scotland, so this was my first journey to that part of the UK

Never thought to take Camera

So yesterday we were up at 6am, got ready and straight to McDonalds for Breakfast, then ready at 8am when the van hire place opended, got held up straight away coz the were having problems with the internet, no surprise it's BT

So leaving about 8:30 am and first place was straight to Glasgow just for some Hi-Fi Speakers, seller didn't want to post and weighing 20kg each I can understand.

With the odd stop off on the way, fun trying to park LWB Sprinter in a Morrisons Car Park full of morons that can't drive was the first nightmare of the day

Sat nav not knowing which way it's going and when near first destination wanted us to go down the correct road, however it was one way and sat nav was wrong way

Having looked on Google map first, I knew it was going to be tuff parking outside the place, had to double park, but all ok and speakers picked up

Buy the time this is loaded up and a quick peek at some other machines it's about 5pm and GF wants to head home however I have other thoughts

While I am up this way, there is one last mission I want to do even though it could be a complete waste of time, as I don't know what will happen if I got there.

Before leaving and just having the last chat with the seller, GF spots a dent and cracked rear tail light on the Hire van, so I thought someone had done it whilst parked, I know I didn't hit anything when parking/turning, so now worried I am gonna have to pay for the damage I didn't do

They day is costing me enough already with the cost of the items, van hire and fuel cost, so thats the last thing I need

So I came out with it, I want to drive over Edinburgh way, if I'm gonna pay for the van, I might as well make the most of it as it's only another hour or so to the place

Things didn't go too well though, we got there no problem, but had right trouble trying to get it out, ended up slashing my arm on the mirror, which I should of taken out but wires were in the way. had to tie old rags around my arm, like in the films and drive for about 7 hours back home. After getting home, straight down the hospital to get it looked at. The blood stopped quite quick which was good, but feeling very tired and cut wasn't good, and all for this,

can you guess what game it is

« on: February 20, 2007, 01:03:49 AM »
As my other post it has been a long time coming but here you go, please note these pics may offend, hopefully not for too long as I plan to fully restore back to it's former glory 8)

It was a poor DL cab that was spotted on ebay, it has been jammer'd and was running Robocop :x

Good news is I have got hold of 3 Euro pcbs, one for DL, other for SA and one is scrap for spares  :) , 2 pal laserdiscs, sony player, audio/regulator pcb's and the rest is still in the cab, only one thing I'm gonna have problems with is the main connector that goes to the pcb has been cut off

I'm sure it can be sorted though

Dragon's Lair / Space Ace / Hello All!!!
« on: May 06, 2006, 05:57:58 PM »
What a great site and forum you have here.  :D

I found it after recently picking up  an  Atari Dragon's Lair Cab, gonna be one big project but I had to save it.

It has been wiried to Jamma, looks like the original monitor and transformer block still present, original control panel (with a few extra holes) coin door and mech. I have got a few ARII pcbs and a Sony Lasermax DLP-1550P Player.

I need to get hold of a Euro Pal Main PCB and a Pal Laserdisc to get it to a working state, obviously going to need a few more bits like joystick, start buttons and artwork etc.

I have quite a few machines now, how do you get picks on here?

Chris
