First off, happy new year to all!

Then, I'm selling something, well, I think many of you will not care about, but wanted to give it a shot anyway.

It's a Raspberry Pi 3B emulator arcade in a shop display. It has a nice size and it looks good in more 'formal' environments like an office or a living room. Inside is this Raspberry Pi 3B:

https://www.sossolutions.nl/raspberry-3b-nintendo-retroconsole

Turns out the Pi is just not for me, with the tweeking of the emulators and controls and stuff.

Machine is located in Hengelo, in the east of the Netherlands some 25 km from the German border.

If you're looking for more stuff for your office, I also have a touch screen for kids, in a colourful house with a little bench in front.

I know I won't get back the money I put into the Pi machine. Make me a fair offer and you can come pick it up (or we can arrange transport).

Arcade Lifestyle / Universal game Get A Way found!
« on: April 02, 2017, 02:19:40 PM »
I recently won a Zero Hour Universal game on eBay Germany. The ad mentioned that the seller had hundreds of arcade games and parts for sale. His warehouses were indeed filled with games, around 900 (!) of them. 90% of them were the typical bartop casino games that you find in German road stop restaurants. The other 10% were a mixed bag, with some classics here and there.

After going through the warehouses and when I was about to leave, I spotted an unusual shaped cab in a corner of the building. I then spotted a Universal logo, and a game's name that I had given up on ever finding: Get A Way!

I quickly turned to the seller. I couldn't manage to stay calm, so it was obvious to him that he had something of value. We agreed upon the price and he promised that he would keep it for me (I had not enough cash money on me). A week of nervousness passed (the seller listed several other cabs on eBay, but luckily not the Get a Way; so glad that he kept his word!) and I went back to the warehouse to pick up the cab.

The seller had moved the cab a bit so I was able to check it out some more. I wasn't sure if the game still had its guts - people had pointed out to me that the game had not been dumped so far - and was thrilled to find out that the pcb was still there. I'm sending the pcb to a tech wizzard for inspection; hopefully he can dump the ROM.

When I was at the warehouse the first time I realized that the seat of the game was missing. I had sent the seller a picture of the flyer and he promised to search the warehouse for the seat. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to locate it.

When we had moved the game out of the warehouse, I saw something that looked like the base of a big arcade game behind it. We took it out, but it turned out to be part of a bowling game. So, bad luck on that... I think I'll try to recreate it from the pic in the flyer.

It will take quite some time and effort to get this up and running, but for now, I'm just  happy to have saved this puppy  :)

Artwork / How to restore glass marquee art?
« on: October 11, 2015, 12:57:59 PM »
I have found a rare Jungler glass marquee.
It's in reasonable condition, but could surely use some touching up (see pics).

Any thoughts on what the best way is to approach this?

'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / WTB: empty Stern cabinets
« on: July 19, 2015, 01:01:58 PM »
Hi all

As you may know, I'm trying to get a complete row of Stern games.
Progressing nicely, but I'm running into a problem: lack of cabs!

I need empty cabs for game that came as a kit, like Pop Flamer.
And furthermore, I need donor cabs to perform a couple of transplantations
Stern appears to not have used particularly high quality wood:

  • the black generic cabs (with the red Stern logo on the side) are often completely rotten away at the bottom
  • the colored cabs often suffer from splitting layers of wood on the side panels

I you have or know of any (empty) Stern cabinets, please let me know.
Will take both types of cabs, only one demand: the wood needs to be in good condition  :)

Cheers
Marco

So, these parts came in as new arrivals:

I have an empty Robotron cab on its way in c#7, this kit was made for a Robotron cab so should make for an easy installment. Still needed: joystick and check up on the boards, which Jochen is already taking care of. Woho!

Next up: Inferno    ;)

Cheers,
Marco

Artwork / Reproducing a marquee?
« on: October 24, 2014, 03:31:57 PM »
Hi

I'd like to reproduce my broken Cosmic Monsters II marquee

Found a picture op it online, the colors appear somewhat fainted:

http://www.ggdb.com/Picture.aspx?c=Coin-Op&s=Arcade&y=1979&vid=8036&p=9980

Can anyone help with a source to get the colors right and print this on plexi.

Thanks!
