At the end of last year i got the opportunity to get my hands on a rare arcade...
- so, go now, make a cup of coffee, or tea, you could even grap a soft drink, because
this is going to be a hell of a roadtrip, through the English countryside... cough cough...
well, it´s not the most beautiful country, and winter doesn't make that better... not one bit!

woho, michael, qubes has finally come home. i'm very happy for you, especially considering the fact that you had to postpone your first pickup appointment for this baby. now "all you need" is a q*bert to go next to it! :D
do you have repro art for the control panel as well?

But with that *rare* game, you'll have the same problem then your *rare* factory 'Return Of The Jedi/cockpit' : you'll need the original one too, in that case, simply Q*Bert ;)

I know, i know! Really Really want a SW cockpit to go beside my ROTJ and a Q*bert to go beide my QQ..
But you never know, someday one of them or both of them might surface...

I would have a serious problem to not convert it back to Q*bert if that was mine....on one hand Qubes is even more rare then Q*bert, on the other....its not as epic as the original...tough call !

Yeah, but the thing is that i don't have the same remembrence of Q*bert than you have, of course it would be "easy" - just remove the QQ side art and cpo, unhook the daughter board and there you go... But, again, why "destroy" a genuine QQ???

If I were you, I wouldn't convert the arts back to Qbert, it is a real rare and unique cab.

Yup, I think that would be what I would do....artwork Qubes, multi-kit to also be able to play the original (and more).
That is, I am assuming Qubes runs on the same hardware as Q*bert....

But seriously, it's not on that picture. It's mounted to the side of the coin-box area AFAIK.
The black round thing is a fuse holder, you often see those in pinballs too, no wonder with Gottlieb.

Inspectet the cab some more, and can´t find the knocker??????? - did QQ come with a knocker??, can´t see why it shouldent, coz it´s just a factory converted Q*bert...

I have no idea if Cubes used a knocker. That circled part looks like a NOVRAM module and very likely indeed contains a battery. Check the schematics and/or manual to see what it is used for and remove/replace it ASAP.
It could also be sticker residu judging from that plc though...?

I think also its sticker residue, since there is no acid on the board..
but better check, it could indeed have a battery inside, and then i agree with andre, replace ASAP!

At least get rid of the stuff that is leaking out now !!!
Buy some "cleaning vinegar" or I think its called white vinegar and rinse the battery area where the stuff is with it.
Make a video, its fun to see the bubbles !!!! After the bubbles are all gone, the stuff left is chalk. You can scrape it away pretty easily.
Dont get the entire board wet. At least that battery is nicely positioned in the corner. Store the PCB so that the battery is on the BOTTOM, so that if there is any leaking, it will run away from the electronics and not towards it.
Does the PCB actually work by the way ? The label of the closest EPROM seems to have become wet at one point in time.....how about the chips around it ?

Received the converter last week, and finally got to test if my Qubes is working...
Powered it up, and......

It seems to work, but no matter what i try, the Service switch and the contact that chooses between Play and Test dosen´t work... but when i power up i can briefly see the highscore board before it switches to Test mode......
Any suggestions?
