Digital Leisure Celebrates “Dragon’s Lair Week” Honoring the 25th Anniversary with Exciting Giveaways

GORMLEY, Ontario, Canada – June 20, 2008 – Though it may seem like just yesterday that your pockets were being lightened two quarters at a time by the most revolutionary arcade machine on the market, it’s actually been 25 years, and now it’s time to celebrate!

Launched on to the arcade scene in June of 1983, Dragon’s Lair received worldwide acclaim with its ground-breaking animation and interactive gameplay. This would leave a mark on a generation of millions of faithful followers who fondly remember their first ‘Lair’ experience. More recently, Digital Leisure gave Dragon’s Lair the royal treatment and remastered the original film onto Blu-ray High Definition to ensure this classic animated game could be enjoyed by an all-new generation of gamers.

“I can’t believe it’s already been 25 years!” said Dragon’s Lair creator and legendary film animator Don Bluth. “To think a small project conceived by Rick Dyer would become such a beloved classic is something I couldn’t have foreseen. I don’t think Dirk and Daphne have aged a day!”

The week of June 22nd is your opportunity to celebrate this milestone in video gaming history. During the 25th anniversary week, Digital Leisure will be offering 25% off all Dragon’s Lair games from its website. As well, with your purchased copy of Dragon’s Lair on DVD, Blu-ray or on HD PC DVD your copy will be personally signed by original creators Don Bluth, Gary Goldman, John Pomeroy and Rick Dyer.

To top off the celebrations, Digital Leisure will also be giving away a giclee of the opening castle scene from Dragon’s Lair, hand-signed by all of the creators, a $500 value. This limited piece of animation art will be given away to one lucky Dragon’s Lair fan who enters their name at www.digitalleisure.com during Dragon’s Lair Week! Dragon’s Lair fans will also have the opportunity to purchase an original Dragon’s Lair movie-style poster autographed by all four creators!

I got mine today.

I hacked together a test platform with a 12 volt wall wart and a cheap digital video camera output.

It is not hi-res, but it is nice.  The colors are good.

As the saga continues....

I did get my refund, and he suggested that we skip the feedback stuff.   ???  Could he be mad at me??

I found this on Ebay...

Gateway Destination Monitor and Computer

This is a Gateway 32 inch Monitor and System.
The system is 350Mhz Pentium II with the original Gateway TV Card in it.    Wow!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=200228697502&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=010

My Gauntlet cab takes a 33" Wells monitor, so this will be a good fit.

The computer will probably be sold to the local used computer store.

BUT!.....

I have to drive down to get it!!!

Start: York, PA 17401
End: Severn, MD

Total Estimated Time: 1 hour 20 minutes
Total Estimated Distance: 68.68 miles

Each way.

I know, I know,  Take lots of pictures!

We have a winner!

There have been 50 views of this thread, so it is done.

I think Sonic should drive the 1500 miles from Texas to Pennsylvania to pick it up in person, take a lot of pictures, and post them here!..

Or, I can just drop it in the mail.

Well, after buying my monitor on April 21st, he promised to ship it May 3rd.  I just got a tracking number May 29th.

I can't wait for him to request that I give him "Positive Feedback"!

I never knew that Galaga was a Jamma game!

My Galaga cabinet here in the USA used partical board, not finished plywood, and it was painted black, not stained.

Gee, I guess that it can't be a "Vintage" game!

Arghh... to bad... I already have it  ;)   :P  :spaceace:

Yes, but do you have the "American Version"?  This one has all the secret levels that we never told you about.

Free to a good home...  Space Ace CD-Rom for the 386 from 1994.

I unpacked a box that I moved with for the last 20 years and found this.

A collector of Space Ace things may be interested in this for his "Butterfly Collection", but it will not work under Win-XP.  Since it is from 1994, I assume that it should work under Win-95.

I will even pay the shipping for a board member.

If more than one person requests it, I will give it to the person who can get closest to the number that I am thinking of, between 1 and 1000.

It looks like this, but this one is for the Jaguar system, picture from Ebay.  Mine is for the PC.

I just searched Ebay, and there aren't any listed!

I want it Daddy, and I want it NOW!

Do I have to buy a ticket?

And do I get to play with the display pieces in your museum? ... Please?

I think that it is a home made cab.  Notice the wood grain?  That cab was never painted black, played, damaged, and stripped, repaired, and stained.   That is made from finished plywood I bet.

I have seen that green TV connector at a TV station I worked at.  I was not one of their geeks, so I didn't play with it.  They had a cable to go into a standard Video Board.
