after - YEARS - collecting parts all over Italy I'm proud to show you MONZA GP pictures. Board is working; score board definitely not but I'm confident :)

Awesome !!!! Love copies/bootlegs ! :)

So...this looks very much like a Monaco GP bootleg right ?

Does it use the same hardware, I mean, no processor and loads of boards with loads of TTLs ?

Nightmare to fix !!!

@Level42
absolutely not. I don't consider this game a bootleg, HW is quite different; it has 2 CPUs and you can find it in MAME (but sound board is very similar).

AH OK, but is the gameplay not very similar ?

Very smart they used CPU's ;)

Anyway....still a knock-off then ;)

Like the side-art better :)

Just a fast update.
I'm going creazy with the scoreboard. "as usual" I changed more or less all components; board was acid damaged and acid was under a lot of chips creating some shorts and/or destroying some lines.
Now I have 4 issues; 3 about the scores, one about the game.

1) last digit is missing: points and seconds are rounded to ten, the last digit is always 0
2) top result flashes irregularly
3) original cable from PCB to score board is acid damaged. I need one. It is like a HD cable (40 pins) with the same male connector but I need 60/80 cm.
4) only one of the "other cars" moves horizontally, all the other stay on the right of the lane

Issue 4 solved.

All cars (5 in total) shift horizzontally driven by 74191 counters. Each car has its own counter.
these counters are driven by 3 clock different signals.
these signals are generated by a capacitor/resistor/7414 circuit
One was correct (one car was ok), 4 cars were driven by otner 2 clocks
the board have been acked and these 2 clocks were generated by a data buffer (?)

replacing the original circuit cars return to be ok....

ok. 99% done.
I still have some RAMs problems but I can consider restoration closed.

- thanks to the new flat cable between score board and main board I could mount score board in the final place.
- score board now works fine. all problems came from a faulty 7447
- I can see back door probably came from another mini cab because it has been adapted to this cab
- lamps behind the plastic marquee have been replaced with new led version lamps because I don't want to use incandescent lamps too close to plastic parts can be deformed

you can see inside the cab.
-I used a switch ps because actually I don't know where to find a replacement of the original one and I used a separated little transformer for marquee and coin door lamps
-on the pedal metal box you can see my colour inversion circuit

here a short movie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO_pX4Ki2PY

here you can see more or less all game parts... I'm sorry I'm not a good player but I think it is more difficult than the Sega version...
