They can't find regular renting companies on a A-grade central station location? OMG, real estate business does have a crisis in NL.

whole netherlands is "verhuur" - to let -  when I drive through the country. Nearly every highway "afrit" has 2-3 huge buildings for rent.

I have been told, that they don't need to find someone - with the taxes and other stuff it doesn't cost that much to just leave it empty?

Partly true. The thing is that this situation already existed for a large part before the crisis struck. When I drove down Amsterdamned-Zuid Oost in 2007, there were more offices for rent then occupied.....the bubble was clear and waiting to pop.

Real estate developers, together with greedy city councils are to blame for this crazy situation.

Mind you, we did a lot of business with all those offices. Lots of fire alarm systems in lots of office towers.... One example: the 2nd tallest office building in Almere. I commissioned that system about three years ago. It has stood empty since (except for an artist who is using the ground floor as atelier now, also to keep it from being "cracked").  However, they still have to keep the system maintained each year, so strangely this hardly effects us.....

Anyway, Pieter what I think: stop wasting time on Sketchup, you've got so much space you don't need it.....so start dragging cabs !   ;D ;D

By the way, is there another entry to the building for delivering cabs because the one we used last time is directly at the bus station...?

Lol, just got back, the first 4 cabinets are in the building, still 13 to go. I hope to have everything there before Saturday evening.  :D
There's another entry on the right side (with a cargo elevator), but you still need a permit to park there.
