So where to start...
I have fond memories from the eighties. My dad used to run a local club which had some great eighties games like Bomb Jack, Ghosts 'n Goblins, Golden Axe, Rastan, 1942 etc. All in generic cabs rather than anything dedicated as it was in the back woods of Essex. The dedicated cabs would have been at the beach resorts at the time. There was also a resident pool table, so I was quite the shark back in those days to the point were kids both my age and older did not want to play me anymore
I also remember what I now think was an EM pinball, though I cannot remember the title, we only had that in for a month or two. Great times, I recently asked my dad if there were any photos of the old place, but alas no.
Fast forward to December 2011, and I made a new years resolution to collect all my arcade favourites I played back at the club. The PCBs so I can play them in a generic cab as I remember them, no dedicated cabs. This would be far too expensive for me, and I simply do not have the space or more importantly the money.
So as of September I have 30 or so PCBs, a MVS 1 slot and a selection of carts, and this my Taitel cab. Bought from an arcade operator in north Reading. Though I have no pictures to recall, this is as close as what I remember playing in the club all those years ago. I am in the process of making it up to 'collector' quality, the metal parts have been sand blasted and powder coated to remove rust here and there, and I am replacing what innards need it (switching power supply, and the Jamma loom). I needed to have some work done on the chassis to correct the red colour. I absolutely love this cabinet. I am currently getting my arse handed to me by Rastan.
