"anyone looking for a gorf?" was the big question andré asked a couple of weeks ago and since i
was, i replied with YES
! a gorf arcade cabinet had been offered for sale on a pinball forum and with the help of some guys from our fabulous community (
) i managed to strike a deal with the seller which of course meant
roadtrip time - again! unfortunately, the seller's location was pretty far out for a single daytrip, so i decided to ask my best friend charlotte to come along for the ride. parts of her family live to the north of paris which would give us the chance to spend a nice evening in france with them and stay the night at their place.
the wheels have been set in motion, so let's get this roadtrip going - here's what's coming up
- DAY 1 -let's start with some extremely interesting statistics
here's where we want to go first ...
... and here's how long this is going to take us - at least in theory!
of course, i have to pick up charlotte first - this small sign on her door shows her french roots
a fabulous picnic basket has already been prepared - but i'm not allowed to look inside yet, not even a tiny peek!
charlotte is using her stylish star trek phone
to inform her family that we're leaving lauda for france
let's go, baby!
a mere 50 kilometers into this roadtrip, we're being blocked by some stupid "invention" called traffic jam!
and another 100 kilometers later, a second emergency stop is necessary, but this time because charlotte asked me to. she's totally into horses and on our way to france we're passing by germany's largest "horse stuff shop" - let's go inside!
after an hour of "horse shopping", charlotte seems to be extremely happy
and because we're already stopping, why not have a picnic
inside the car right now - i want to know what's inside that basket
woah, i'm impressed
only a small selection of the goodies waiting for us to be eaten!
honestly, those sandwitches are probably the best sandwiches E-V-E-R!!!
after that fantastic meal, we're heading into france where some of my "best friends" are already waiting for us - toll stations!
those toll fees are making me want to convert to the dark side
but i must not complain, because after some more driving, we're being treated to dinner french style
man, i'm hungry!
but not only the food is french, how about some cidre? (by the way, i'm "wearing" a bottle cap on my head - how did it get there?
)
the night falls on chantilly and i can almost smell the gorf just around the corner waiting to be picked up!
to be continued ...
