This may be a stupid question, but I removed a cup and under it was a thin layer of vaseline (or something like it). Was that put there because the cup didn't make sufficient contact, and could that help Pinge?

the condition of the rubber is not so important, its not that it needs to "seal" the hole to work correctly.
its putting a "pulling presure" on it so the pins touch the aquadag by pulling it outwards and the hooks make good contact

its the "non contact" that causes the arcing.

you could place a piece of foam between it to recreate the pulling effect.

Mine is missing one of the hooks, thats worse....

Do it, it's a great game. But I want the Boot Hill because of its background, it would perfectly match besides my Guided Missile :)
