Here is a picture of the Atari factury in Ardfinnan, just outside Tipperary, Ireland, 1979. At that time they produced three types of arcade games for mainland Europe (including the UK, I guess), a large stand-up arcade cabinet, a mid-sized stand-up arcade cabinet and a hexagonal sit-down restaurant/bar type “cocktail” cabinet. In total about 150 games per day. (more info in this article: http://riordanco.com/jimsblog/?page_id=594).

I love the woodgrain cabs, but which game can it be? And what games are there 'shelved' on the right side?

i will say that when i worked many years ago for atari console division we had the full sized machines come through our work place for uk distribution and some were kept in our rest area for free play pole position.tempest, space duel, centipede, asteroids, missile command, but funnily enough we used to go to the nearest pub for lunch as it had defender  :spaceace: happy days
Cool to have an ex-Atari employee here...always a bit jealous :) then again, I was just a kid...

I deliberately quoted that picture again because......do we all agree that the Euro Atari cabarets had much, much nicer woodgrain than the U.S. ones ? This stuff looks pretty chic compared to the rather fake and cheap looking stuff used in the U.S. Factory :)

Ah, recently saw a 2600 with Ingersoll mentioned on the box on Facebook, they said in the beginning Ingersoll imported Ataris in the UK.

Still cool to be able to have that experience. I was a bit younger, 47 now :)

Blackie, in return of 'all the hassle and hard work' I went through getting your parts in Worms  ;D I'd like to read some stories from that time. This sounds very interesting!!! :)

that would have me searching for long gone hidden memories  we did stick ingersoll stickers on the boxes back in the day ,that didnt last so long, as we moved over to warehouse unit in cheshunt and then nothing to do with ingersoll  maybe i will think on it and post it somewhere  ;)

View of an assembly line of generic cabinets, built inside the JEUTEL factory at Toucy/France, during the year 1995.

And here we have an assembly line filled with Q*bert's in their end phase of assembly, as some already show gameplay images on the tubes. These are the models without the Gottlieb name plate on the coin door.

Imagine the attract sound of all those Q*bert´s  ;D

What I find strange about the Nintendo pics is that there seems to be no production line......it's "just" a row of cabs in an otherwise empty hall....strange !
