actually I'm running in order to have this cab ready for the party...
I have other 2 space duel boards so I used one working...
about the monitor: I just cleaned and recapped it, and I changed the high voltage TO3 transistor too.
then I had to work a little bit on pots to have a bright image. Probably I'll regenerate the tube, I'm not sure.

I've been lucky although I think my other color hantarex monitor saved somewhere 10 years ago works so I had a spare ready

Awesome !!!
Does it really need rejuvenation ?? Doesn't look like it from the picture... do you have a good rejuvenator ?

Sounds like the Hantarex had a better design.......not a big surprise there ;)

Is there any online docs about the color vector from Hantarex ?

Is it the same as this one Marco ?

If so, Andreas can update the website, it's not a prototype and has been in production, your cab proves it :)

I really like the lay out of those boards. Nice clean organized design....

I was quite sure it was not a proto. I found the 1st monitor in a warehouse with  "TEMPEST" impressed on the tube...

so a F.lli Bertolino TEMPEST exists somewhere  :o

Here are some photos of the Hantarex colour XY: http://www.andysarcade.de/data/picseries/vecmon_hantarex_color/overview.html

Those pictures seem to suggest two interesting things:
1) It uses the MTC-900 LOPT.
2) The neck & yoke look as if they run the same ITT CRT used in the MTC-900 chassis.

Paul.

This is very interesting indeed.....if we can replicate the PCBs we can convert any 900 to vector......only problem is the yoke.....

woohoo......cool.......!!!!!

Yes, a prototype probably also would look different, the PCBs have printing on them etc. anyway doesn't matter much, great you have it working :):)

Ah, no documents at all... some years ago I called Hantarex to have more info but they told me they didn't save any old document after the brand acquisition.

We owe it to history to reverse engineer the board....make a schematic from the boards. Possible but tedious work.....anyone bored/unemployed  ? ;);););)

From the pictures of the HV it uses the 900 "brick" LOPT, that would also suggest it runs off the same 120V/240V split input that the 900 does? Is that right, Marco? Hopefully the manual will turn up one day.

If it uses the HiFocus CRT's, then it has the potential to be a very nice sharp picture indeed. Should be better than the Amp/WG standard focus CRT monitors.
Paul.

Interesting. I wonder how they're getting the 128vdc to be able to get HV using the 900 lopt.
