flakey us 150 psu on my taito superchase

got a very flakey hantarex us 150 psu in my arcade taito superchase cab ::) im just checking here can i use a switching psu have a few around here doing nothing ?  :) thank you kindly good people  :)im confused now  :(

If it delivers the voltages and amps you need, i don't see a reason why not.

it delivers or should 12v +5v  -5v Gnd so a replacement should be ok thanks for replying  ;D

as im new and having looked at the pinout will a new switcher be the right way to go ? only seller of a direct replacement is on ebay france and dont ship here  :(

Saw a thread about these on UKVac forums...

No idea what powers that thing delivers. I know the US200 and US250 also power the monitor with something like 138DC (!)

I had a US250 in my Double Axle which was in exactly the same cabinet....

Why you are wasting your time trying to replace that PSU? Check the voltages it outputs, first...

here are readings
right had meter on it and the following readings are current
game board connected and got
+5v= 5.00v
+12v=12.88v

thats all ?

Those readings are perfect. The US150 is different to the US250 and only provides the pcb voltages, so can be swapped out with a regular switcher.
The 250 contains an isolation transformer for the monitor voltages, but the time the 150 came out they were using Hantarex Polo monitors which don't require an iso.

thanks for confirming its a pita of a machine ive 2 faulty boardsets now and think its time for hands up and surrender :roll:
