To convert or not to convert, that is the question.........!
« on: November 30, 2008, 09:32:26 PM »
Hey all,

Ok, bought a new house and here is the room I am thinking of turning into a 'Games Room'
If not then I have to build a dedicated room. But I like the 'feel' of this room (note, this is not my stuff in the picture)
I take ownership just before Xmas WooHoo !!

Thoughts ?

Hi Steve,

Woowww, this room looks absolutely gorgeous on that picture  :o :-*

Honestly, I wouldn't transform a such beautiful room into an vintage/dedicated game room  :?
The wood on the floor and under the roof looks so 'select'  ::) :P
A brand new snooker would be perfect, or some games in GREAT condition... but definitely not some old Arcade games half restored :-\
But maybe I'm wrong  Would it be a best option for you to build a dedicated game room ?
Not a easy choice...  :-\

Hey Bruno,

Yeah I am thinking a pool table, and all the games I have ARE in perfect condition (the others will be restored before they take up the room)

I'll be getting quotes for building a dedicated room. But I thought a bar/pool table and a few machines would be perfect  ;D

We'll see I guess

WOW. That room is awesome. Congrats on the new place.

Bar/pool table = excelent idea. Of course everyone knows any decent bar has to have at least one cab  ;D

Awesome looking room!  Like Bruno said, Dunno if you want to change this room, (that is, if you're going to eventually build another)...

But if you do, There's lots of room for great ideas in such an unusual designed room!!!

A few ideas... You could paint the beams flourescent colors that would glow..   Tons of room to hang signs & vintage style decorations!

More Ideas would come to me if I were sitting in there!!   ;D   ;D

Whatever you decide.. It's gonna RULE!!!!  Have Fun!!!  :pac:  :ghost:  :spaceace:  :spaceace:  :spaceace:

Put in a nice bar, pool table and a mame machine.  The room is gorgeous the way it is with all the wood.

Thanks guys  ;D

Yeah I think I'll leave it and add a room later on. For now I'll put in my fave games against the back wall (DL/SA Cliffy and Gaultnet and Marble Madness) The others will have to go into storage for a while  :-\

Cool house ! Congrats with the buy.

A snooker or pooltable would be nice alongside some arcade cabs ... yep , can picture me playing there (and living) :-)

I would say the guys are right i have a nice games room with pool table only have 3 games in there but they are all like new and i protect the floor by sticking felt pads on the base of the cabs. Depends on your collection if they are mint then with a nice snooker or pool table up there it would look great. But if they are tatty then i wouldnt.

Great looking house !!

All the machines are mint that would be going there. But I think I'll add a room to the lower level  :D

Thanks Bruno  ;D

I'm looking forward to 2009. I can't wait to move in and start on the games room (first order of business) as I need somewhere to escape to ;D
