Well, it IS on a Commodore 64 after all. At least SOME of the gameplay is similar to the original. And I believe the Colecovision and Zx Spectrum ports have the exact same gameplay.

i guess we are not! i'd love to have a dragon's lair machine at home one day, but honestly i think this website NEEDS to change its name. andré tried it once to get enough support, but unfortunately he failed.

honestly, i got turned off by "dragon's lair fans" at the beginning and i'm pretty sure that the title alone holds off a lot of people from joining here, because it sounds like they are a bunch of geeks here who get off on that cosplay crap and princess daphne.

i still don't like using the name of the forum, i always say "DLF", but it would be so much cooler to change the name to arcade-lifestyle instead of something that sounds kinda freaky. what do you think? let's dig out that old discussion thread ...
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

See......ully and I can agree too (apart from wanting a DL machine)  ;D ;D

Don't let this thread get derailed though....and it was just a little joke.....I've told enough about my feelings for that interactive movie and it gets boring to keep going on about it...seriously, I would love to see a DL machine @Eurocade/RGE 2014 because so far we have never had one and it is such an important game for so many arcade fans.

Yes, gameplay is similar than other 8bit (Amstrad, Coleco, Spectrum...) conversions done back in the day.
Funny fact, my favorites levels in these conversions were ...the ones similar than 'the arcade,' meaning the ones with just a move on a certain timing (that's what they call "quick time event" in video game nowadays)  8)
I was a little bit disappointed by the stages 'inspired' by the arcade but with full ...interactivity!  ;D
Anyway, everything labeled "Dragon's Lair" was just a pure dream back in the day!  :P

Oh, and welcome to this castle, Dirk the Daring  ;)
