TV COMPETITION (Yet Another Pong Bootleg)
« on: July 24, 2012, 08:11:55 PM »
I begun to restore it a couple of months ago... I suppose it is italian because instructions say "rotate dials to MOLE paddle..." :) but I'm not so sure :D
I'd like to finish it soon because i've really a lot of cabinets in very bad conditions :(

inside, the board was there but no transformers and the monitor was broken: I don't have a BW monitor to put in there (and just in case I find it I'll preserve it for original cabinets of course) so I'm thinking to use a standard 20'' tv (too bad I know...)

here some pictures of the cabinet as I found it.

I think its pretty cool !

And dont worry for a TV, The original Pong also uses a TV, and so does Rally, so i guess pong is original on a TV  ;)

smoked glass missing but tonight I'll mount it

the original marquee was broken in two parts. I scanned it and I gave it to my graphic designer.
reprinted exactly like the original one, really impressive...

Nice machine, I'm just wondering where did you get the inspiration from, to take care of it these days. ;D

I don't have so much space so when I begin a project I have to finish it before the next one.....
now I'm working on  a MONZA GP, a sort of MONACO GP clone made by Olympia but Olympia redesigned the PCB with a CPU.
This game is very rare (I know, yet another italian bootleg...) and I'm quite curious to have it working.
Anyway Mame team is waiting for a rom dump so you will see it on mame very soon...

These are my project here in Bologna, where I work. In Milano during week ends i'm working on another italian bootleg: Bazooka. I suppose the schematics are the same of TAITO CROSS FIRE, but I can't find them; then I have a couple of cocktails to repair...

Now you got me curious. Do you have pics of the Monza GP and Bazooka? And ever heard of a Olympia game called Jaguar? What else do you have Olympia wise? :pac:

nice :)

PS: are there independently moving extra paddles going up and down closer to the middle of the playfield to make it more difficult or is this some kind of bug?

Additional paddles are independent. Pinout is the same of Pong but the board is different.
