Hi folks,
two weeks ago I was picking up an Atari jukebox nearby Rotterdam - and with the help of my dutch friends - we discovered this shop, too.
By this time I didn't know the thread over here.
We came into the storage...waited for about 30 minutes until a guy approached us if we have any questions. Well - we looked at all the arcades, pinball machines and jukeboxes and asked for functionality and prices.
That guy didn't had an idea so we needed to wait another 30 minutes until another guy - seems to be the boss - arrived.
He gave us some information on the machines and told us some prices, e.g. for a Atari Pinball machine divided into parts standing in the corner (he said it was in working condition).
I agreed to him to send me over prices and a few words concerning condition per e-mail and I said I will come back with a transporter in 2 weeks to maybe pick up something (we had the jukebox within my car - so no space left).
Took him 2 weeks to gave me prices and 3 words each machine about condition.
I agreed with him on buying three machines.
He then replied - ok I put these aside for you waiting for your return - which I promised will be within 7 days. Needed to pick up a larger transporter.
Well then - I dropped him an mail, the day I and my friend are coming with the transporter and he said ok, he will be there.
Took me 4 hours to go there and now hear what happened.
First of all as we arrived, we looked at the machines. None of these have been pulled aside, in fact they were at the same places but one was missing.
first machine -the pinball.
He pulled it out of the corner. moving 5 other machines aside and was looking for a plug in device.
We checked the pinball - it didn't say a sound or anything and was obviously dead.
My friend who has a deep knowledge when it comes to Atari machines and in special pinball machines told me that the board was missing a few parts and of course it was likely to see someone already tried to fix it. The playfield was also missing minor components.
I asked for the price he gave me - and of course for a discount due to its non working condition.
He refused to give a discount and said he could easily repair it and sell for more.
Hey - didn't we agree on a working unit? wtf.
(btw my friend told me even if he does it it will take him half a year to repair it, but the guy said he could do it for 150 - not in this world I bet!)
Anyway - machine number two.
A sega mega tech unit - in non working condition as he already told me.
But look - where has it gone?
"Dunno - it should be here".
Well it was obvious that he sold it to someone else during the last week - hence where in hell should it gone in the warehouse?
I searched the warehouse 3 times - it was gone.
So - I was getting very upset and my friend, too. Up for the 3rd machine: The Battle Shark.
In his e-mail he quoted "condition unknown".
From my experience the day I should have known better, but I trusted him and didn't know his dealer attitude two weeks ago - well it turned out that it was missing parts and therefore unable to repair at all.
What the hell I came here for?
I suggest you don't do business with him - it's not worth a visit. Andre pointed me to this thread, from my pictures you will see that most of the machines are still there.
No wonder if these are in that condition and the day I have been there he was very very unfriendly, didn't looked at us, always singing and smoking.
I came with a large transporter and a lot of money, three times the sum we agreed on before, ready to pick up another jukebox and maybe 2 more machines.
He could have made a nice profit the day and making me a returning and satisfied customer.
Took me 8 hours drive, 400 km each route, 200 Euros for the transporter and another 150 Euros for gas.
It could have been a steal for me finding the pinball and a few arcades - but in the end it turned out he stole my time and money for nothing.
At least it was a nice roadtrip with my dutch friend and the landscape of the Netherlands was also fine - but I needed to wait two weeks to let you know. Still upset about this AsshXXX.
Pics - everything is still there from Andres pics. Beside the Namco machine. It was broken and he sold it obviously on my return (I assume that guy also took the Mega Tech).
Most of his machines are broken and missing parts. The pinball prices he is asking are crackbrained hence most of these are not working and missing whole playfields or important parts.
I would say its a warehouse full of trash - when it comes to his jukeboxes, arcades and pinball machines. The 70s furniture is fine btw. not more.
