Got a new one, japan imported : Space Chaser part 2 or Vader Chaser part 2 by Toy Box Japan.



Very very very good condition as you can see   



In no time after removing the protective film, my daughter is already on it   



Everything is there! Absolutely great condition! 



These handheld coming from the electro mechanical era are gorgeous and usually very ingenious in their conception...







I didn't have one back in the day, so I don't know anything so far about this one... let's plug it!



Nothing! ...expect that white lighted flying saucer! 



I tried everything I can, all the buttons... nothing happens! No sound, no motor sound, no move... nothing... expect that 'stationary' flying saucer. 



Some of us know that game and what should happen during a game? I tried to find a video of that game, but I can't find any information about it! 
Maybe it's a simple fix, but before starting to dismantle it, I would like to see how a normal game works on it.

I have a like new Tomy Tricky Traps, and that one seemed dead as well. It was the motor. Guess it was kind of stuck. After putting it on and off a couple of times and turning the axe of the motor by hand it started working again.

There was a Space Chaser 1 for sale a few weeks back here, but it was in terrible condition, went for 6 eur.

Ok, before trying that one, let's compare it with the original model (by ToyBox, pictured on the right):



The sizes of both box are the same...



No copyright at all on the box! OK, let's open it 



Manual in German is included... but still no copyright somewhere on it.

It's the same game for sure, but all the artworks are different 



Let's compare them side by side... all the plastic parts are the same, but as I say, the artworks are not the same 



Now let's check what's behind them... once again they look the same, except an additional group of six holes for the original model.



Oh, and also still NO COPYRIGHT written for the left one! So I can conclude the left one is ...a clone?!

I think the second one (the clone?) is more beautiful than the first, even though it obviously doesn't have the Space Invaders theme. Did you open the first one and see if the UFO (and gameplay mechanics) looks identical?

Not yet. The idea was to get an other one (the clone) in order to repair the original one. I'm confident about the components inside... there should be the same, and I'll compare what's wrong on the original one...
