Here is a Google Plus album of the Quasar, showing some photos from the inside of the cabinet.  There has definitely been some hacking...

That's not that bad - the power supply and monitor wiring is in tact and that's the original KT-3 monitor. Looks like you're missing the whole of the control panel wiring (expected, as it's incompatible with mostly everything). You'll also be able to hide the extra hole in the CP wood under an original plexi CPO if you can find one.

Don't see any indication of an inverter so the monitor input PCB has likely been restrapped for none-inverted colour. It's straight forward to put it back.

There's hope for that to be restored back to Quasar :)

Paul.

I am fortunate that I have the overlay.

I added a photo of that, and the full cab, to the album.

So....what changes do I need to make on the....chassis?

You'll have to wait until sometime after June 16th for an answer on that one - both my cab, monitor spares and monitor paperwork are on a container ship heading over to the US at the moment.
Regards,
Paul.

Yeah, oll. Went back to work for the afternoon and by the end of it my speech was slurred and I was getting some funny looks. Slept for 11 hours last night and woke up ready to sleep another 11 :)
Scrambling this morning to get some paperwork sorted out. Hopefully sorted now.
Paul.

Very cool on the artwork progress.

I got a notification on the thread - so probably a good time to update it...

With the help of some of the awesome UK collectors, and Ed Lutz here locally - I am now fortunately to have two full Quasar boardsets with sound boards.  So hopefully, I should have some luck there.

I also have two marquees. I bought one off eBay for what I thought was a deal.  Turns out, the seller deliberately hid that the front was scratched to hell, which you couldn't see in the photos.  But fortunately Thorsten came along with his NOS ones, and I bought one off of him.

So - all that should be left is the harness.  To refresh that question - can anyone help me there with some photos as an initial compass?  I know that is an ask on someone's time, understand if it isn't possible...

I can make photos of the harness in my Quasar.
Imthink it's completely as produced;)

Where I have to focus on?

Unfortunately mine has a jamma harness and a Hantarex MTC 9300 chassis, so it wouldn't help too much. :-\

maybe we could make a quasar picture site, something like a collage ;D

it would be interesting to see the differences.

Can someone take some good photos showing the board mountings?  Take a couple showing the connectors, any details on the mounting components themselves, details on the wiring and a few showing everything?

I don't believe my harness is hacked too bad, looks like they tried to use the existing.

I've added a two new photos to the end of the original album linked in the first post in this thread, showing behind the cpanel and then the harness pulled out of the track.
