a couple of days ago, i received the sample glue strips i'd like to use as "on-screen markers" to replace the old invisible ones still stuck on the screen

i had asked for two different sample sheets: transparent and translucent

today i went to my mum's place and tested the sheets. it turned out that translucent was not transparent enough (i guess that's why it's called translucent :P), that's why you're only going to see "transparent pictures"! i turned on the machine and placed the sheet directly onto the monitor

with the lights eventually turned off, the colors came out much nicer

the decision has been made: i will use certain shades of yellow and red for the markers on the course and for the finish line!

all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

I'm also looking for this stuff for my The Invaders cab, they make the B/W monitor red and green. :D

Same for me. I'll need that for my SuperBug. Did you get these sample for free?
I suggest to make them travel all across the Europe between collectors... First!  ;D

nope, i didn't, but they weren't expensive. paid around 5 euros for the two sheets including shipping, so i'd say that's acceptable and i knew that i would probably need them again in the future for old b/w games. i will gladly bring them along, bruno, if the "you know which deal" goes through!

time to finish this - the transparent adhesive tapes have arrived! everything got delayed for some days because the only shop carrying those items has a minimum order limit and i had to do some serious negotiating to get what i wanted! ;D

let's see if this works the way i hoped it would: adding the mileage checkpoints ...

... and the finish line(s)!

man, this looks really cool with the lights turned off! 8)

this restoration is finished, but i'm looking for a lemans pcb to put into the cab. why a lemans pcb, you might ask? well, the pinout is identical and can therefore be simply swapped with gran trak 10, but lemans features different race courses (which change automatically after each round) whereas gran trak 10 has just one course!

And another nice finished and in MINT condition!! WOW this is really amazing! And that cab is wonderful! Great work, Ully!
Mmh that Le Mans courses will probably not fit with the transparent stripes on the screen?! Maybe you can use some kind of plastic overlay like on the vectrex or something.
Anyway, congrats to that beautiful machine! Now have fun playing :D
