Honestly.. it's been a few years since I played, but I'm sure they're not bad scores!

I just made sure I was top on all the challenges!  :D

I've got few months ago a Stun Runner board from US. At the time, because I hadn't the cabinet at home, and because I didn't know if the game was working or not, I thought I was a good idea to buy a working Stun Runner board.

Here it is

It's supposed to be 'Tested & Working'... yes yes... it's even written on it  :P

OK, so let's swap the current board, working but with some sounds issues, with this board... on location

Let's plug the game... Yes  :) That board is working ... but ... still the same sound problems  ???

Well, let's check inside the cockpit... OK ... what's this small additional board ?

OK... understood! THIS is the sound board!

Now, I know I have two working Stun Runner main boards, and I know the problem is located on that small card!

But... what could be wrong on it... it looks very clean... the condos 'looks' fine ... maybe a ram problem on it ?
There's no error in the test mode of the game... strange... any idea maybe?  :?

I posted it on the KLOV forum Bruno, lot's of knowledge overthere !

I'm sure it can be fixed. What exactly are the sound issues ?

Apparently, the sound boards often went bad on STUN runner:

It's time to clean up the screen, the bezel... and this

Maybe I should keep the insect, put in in amber, and make a nice keyring...like this

Too bad I didn't think about it previously  ...but next time, I'll  :D

Ok, the monitor + bezel are cleaned

Hey... a S.T.U.N. RUNNER is supposed to have a nice marquee, isn't it?

Here it is...

It needs to be cleaned too ...

Done... and 'on location' ... *bonus* : the original neon is still working  ;D

Let's continue the cleaning.

Because that game operated in a theme park for small kids, a lot of sand everywhere :-X

...well... not only for small kids... because of these cigarette burns  :?

...very ... very ... very old bubblegums ...

Arghhh... Cannot remove it  :-\ I've tried to pull it off with a screwdriver, but it won't go  :-\ Any advice for removing it ?

OK, let's remove the sand :

For the rest, I'm using a 'cockpit cleaner for car'... because it's mostly plastic parts here  8) Except the cigarette burns, it looks better now

Funny, see the speaker location on this game :

I think it looks nice with the Turbo Out Run cockpit on its side...

...because of the same RED plastic color  8)

Let's take a ride now...

Monitor is in very good condition, very nice, clean & clear picture :

Arghhh !!!! Too late for the T-shirt challenge  :P ;D

There is a product called Goo Gone, I use it to dissolve gum that kids place on the theatre seats.

Maybe it's available in your area?   www.googone.com

It works great!  easy to use!  ;)

Retro Gamer has to be one of the best gaming magazines out there ;D. The writers really know their stuff, they interact with their readers on the RG forum and you can always count on professional reviews and interviews.
...and they love SEGA too :P ;D
