3d printing services
« on: September 21, 2011, 01:21:23 PM »
Hello all,

While trying to fix the spring in chrischris's outrun at eurocade,

(i borrowed etienne pic)

we noticed that one white cranked wheel was cracked. Besides finding a expensive part which are really scarce to find , there's no alternative . So i come up with an idea, why not trying to reproduce it using one of the 3d printing service. Does anyone tried those kind of service (shapeways or imaterialise) ? depending on solidity and price, I think this can greatly help us. Etienne dare to build a 3d scanner with a wood plank, some tape and paper clip ? ;);)

Here you can simply upload your design and they print it for you :)

My dad told me that the Fraunhofer institute is experimenting with 3D printing hair vanes for human bodies....very good development...

i'm making a 3d printer as a school project. So if you would tell me where i can download the drawing i would love to try making one. dont depend on it because we just start working whit the one we made. if you want a cheap printing serves http://www.rooiejoris.nl/ its a dutch site and he only asks 1 euro a minute for printing. Looking at the size of the part you need will cost you 10 euro max for low resolution and little more for high resolution.
