Here's a better picture from that smaller bezel from twisted quarter:

See the extra most-inner edge....that shouldn't be there for my application....

I'd use a Dremel too. And afterwards a fine sanding paper or a heater to sand or burn the remaining little edges smooth. :)

Btw: Awesome resto so far! Go go go!

I'm not sure if my hand is steady enough for using the Dremel for this...

Some small but important work done, rebuilt the joystick :)

The rubbers replaced (about time ;))

Aaaaaaaaannndd....thanks to Luigi a set of spanking new Cherry micro-switches installed !  :spaceace: :spaceace: :spaceace: :spaceace:
Thanks my friend !!!

By the way, before I get questions: that blue connector is there because it needs to have 3 wires crimped to it, won't fit in the other type of connector :)

I'm a bit sad that the joystick rebuild kit doesn't include a new rubber for the end of the stick. This has gotten a bit dented where it pushes on the micro-switches (see the lower left part of the pic in the previous posting) and a new one would activate them a bit quicker I guess. Probably a part that can't be find though. I may experiment with some rubber band or something if I don't like the joystick's feel.

Spring finally started here so I decided to paint the black parts. Inspired by John's video about the Journey I decided to give rattle can spray painting a go. I carefully protected the sides and sprayed away.

I'm not happy with the results. I'll sand it a bit again and roll it....it just doesn't really cover nicely somehow.

However, since I had the cab out anyway I decided to do some other work....I wanted to see some result to motivate myself again :)

It was a lot of repositioning and measuring. My conclusion is that this repro artwork does NOT have exactly the correct sizes as the original....at least not as the one that was on my cab....o well....

Looks real good!!!
Dreaming of a Namco Galaxian waiting in a barn for me... somewhere! A Nintendo Sheriff would also make me happy. And a SNK Sasuke Vs Commanders or a SEGA Samurai... Argh too many; in fact!
