PSU PCB and board interconnect harness are in Holland but not at my home yet....

First step will be testing the soundboard.

Don't expect too much though, first still have to finish Ms.Pac

Nah.....just copy and pasted this picture from the KLOV thread about Jrok's Mylstar board. I was first waiting on this board for my machine but I now have an original board set. The main PCB works, the sound-board not tested yet....

I am currently battling with the Ms.Pac coin door...more on that later. As soon as the Ms. is finished, Q*bert is next up...

I overheard some bad gossip about my Q*bert at RGE.....the bad thing about it it is all true....

Do I dare to revive this ancient thread ? This beautiful cabinet was given to me by two of most wonderful friends I have in this hobby in september 2011 and it has been (patiently?) been waiting in the far corner of my gameroom for it's restoration.

Well my resolution for 2015 is restore this beauty to it's full glory WITHIN 2015 (let's be realistic ;))

I just saw on the checklist that I actually have about (all) parts already ! :)

I still need the paint though and sadly my beloved Verfkoning (paint-king) has gone bust (at least here in Rotterdam) so no more perfectly matched CHEAP paint for me :(
I actually am looking forward to doing this, compared to the Ms.Pac I hope painting and installing the stickers will be "a breeze" ;)
Also, the cab is already empty which will make starting working on it easier :)
The biggest challenge for this cab is the harness. There is a partial harness (hacked) still inside and I have the inter-board harness but I'm not sure I can simply connect both and be up and running. That will be a lot of checking to do.

When that's done I can check if the voice/sound board works, which is the other big unknown factor.

Preps will be starting.....Tomorrow !!! (unless I have to work, I'm on on-call duty until saturday....)

Great, thanks !!!

Do you also still have the can and do you want to keep it ? else I could buy it from you :)

That would mean picking it up at your home I guess ;);););)

I'll see if I can get Dulux here....it's not a really big brand here AFAIK.

Which reminds me I still have a can of red paint.......mmmm, maybe I should paint two cabs at a time....

Heh....maybe the paint job ;) But that would require completely dismantling the Mario Bros......and that is playable now....so sorry Ully, I'll stick with the Q*bert for now.

Here it is right now:

Been doing a bit of research....i didnt know how the monitor was mounted in a Q*bert and it turns out they used a vertical framed monitor. (I opened a WTB about it here https://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?topic=6067.0 )

I actually don't even recall seeing a vertical framed monitor ever so they are pretty rare.....and I have little hope to find one.

SO......plan B is needed. plan B is to get a piece of multiplex, cut in a hole for the front it the tube and hang it in there and then install that multiplex board using some supports like these:

Maybe I could even hang the monitor directly on these supports somehow.....anyone ever tried this ?
