A small trip for some driving:Monaco Gp cockpit
« on: July 06, 2011, 04:49:27 PM »
How many times we all said "I have no more space for a cab, I have to resist" etc., etc.
In this case I was exactly in this situation, this cab appeard from nowhere and I had to say yes or no and pick it up in 1 day. :o
It was only 90 kms from my place in a city called Oroszlány (means russian girl), so you could guess the rest. ;D
I forgot my camera at home, so only a few pics was made with my handy.
As this cab is heavy (but not that big as I thought), I had to ask a friend of mine to accompany me with his "ruined" van.
This car was owned by a fruit and vegetable company earlier, but it looks like a drug dealer car with those nice grasses. ;D

We arrived within an hour and spotted this beauty in the garden :o

Loaded in no time

I don't have more pics from the trip, but I made some from the cab.
It is in awesome condition and has a working pcb, monitor and led display, but as it don't accepts credits atm. I couldn't test the rest.

All original inside

That was my small story for today, I hope I can get it to work soon. ;D

wow, what a great catch! driving games definitely are made for cockpits. was it cheap?

do you have any space left or is this going to stay in the living room? ;D

regarding the credit issue: have you checked the coin door wiring? could be an easy fix if everything else is working ...
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

Lovely condition for that one, well done!
In addition, this is a great game to play.
You're right, impossible to let that one, even if "I have no more space for a cab, I have to resist" factor ;D
We are weak  ;D

It was in the acceptable price range and the transport costs was less than 25 eur. ;)
I checked that part of the cab, it is in the gearbox, seems like the most of the coin mech is missing, but the microswitch is there with wires connected. ???

have you checked the wires for continuity from the switch to the board ("beep test")?

In my cab, you should press (one or two times) on that microswitch and put the foot on the "accelerator pedal".

Unfortunately I don't have a voltmeter and I even don't know how to use it, but it will happen soon. ;)

Afaik these licence stickers did not exist in 1979, but I will take a closer look tomorrow. ;)
I also have a complete Sega Turbo pcb set, but it also lacks this sticker. :-\
