Yup....all children of grandpa too busy with "work"...and "projects" even to come for his birthday...so they "pay him off" with an expensive present (as he mentions).
Exactly the point they tried to make....still actual today I guess for a lot of people.
Then again, he DID get a state of the art games machine for that time

(I knew I was drooling all over the place when I saw one....we could only afford one some time later when the price was reduced to DFL 499,- which was still insane of course if you think about devaluation.
I remember getting a game for it for my birthday, remember it like it was yesterday because I was SO excited...I chose Demon Attack, and never regretted it, what a brilliant game. My dad paid DFL 149,- and I knew that was definitely a lot higher then my usual birthday gift.
Good thing my mom wasn't around when we bought it
