Wow... more than three years and half later  ;)

Ops, I don't remember what was wrong with that monitor. It has been repaired but I got new problems with it, and it has been changed by a brand new TV CRT  ;)

Regarding the roms, I had the idea to get a lot of Tron spare parts, and one day I got the opportunity to catch that set of roms, of course useless for that ram error  :-\

Back on this one.

There is a special door on that Tron model (in order to have access to the coins) but I didn't find an other one yet  :-[
So, I'll hide that HUGE opening until I'll catch the real door.

A simple plate of metal will be fine :

Let's paint it + make holes :

On location

The back door have to be black of course.

Oh my god, back on this topic  ::) :P

OK, following this post : "Disney starts Tron publicity in a _really_ nice way !! ", I got the Comic Con International: San Diego Exclusive Flynn Lives t-shirt!!!  :-*

Here's the story :

The t-shirt was obtained after finding Flynn's Arcade by taking part in a scavenger hunt thru Downtown San Diego.
The arcade- filled with working games from the ‘80s- was recreated to promote the new Tron Movie (Tron Legacy) due in theaters next year.
After playing the video games, the back wall of the arcade opened to a hall which contained design sketches and a life-size replica of a speeder-bike prop from the movie.
Shirts and posters (used in the scavenger hunt) were given out after the viewing.

Too bad I wasn't there, but I got THE T-shirt  8)

Can I beat the 'spirit' of Flynn???

Arghhh no! Flynn is a programmer... and even better, the TRON programmer  ;)

And here's one of the two hidden codes written on that t-shirt... only viewable under a black light

S LASH
? What does it means ?

Here's what the door should look like to help you find/make one.

Wow, thanks for that picture, Oliver  :-*

It's the first time I see the same model than the one I own.

Do you know it that same 'low-door' is used on other cabinet? It would me more easy for me to track one  ::) 8)

In order to be complete on this topic, and just in case you've missed it, I got this cabinet with me in an exhibition :

Surprisingly the game had a lot of success : Tron 'the game' is not a *mainstream* game (it's not Pac Mac or Donkey Kong), but people there were very curious to try the all-famous Tron cabinet  :-*

It's awesome the merchandising around the new Tron movie to come  :-*. It's so 'arcade' oriented... what's better than that ::) :P

Ok, so what's this on my cabinet?  ::)

7 new coins from the FLYNN's Arcade  ;D

And this?... glowing like hell  ::)

It's a special pocket where you can put coins before going into the Arcades  ;)

Can't wait to see the movie :P :P :P

Nice story. You once said that you would send off the original game PCB for a repair job. Did you do that, or is the cab still running on Mame?

You need to look for a Zaccaria lower door, your tron is the rare Zaccaria version !

but i guess you already know that ?

Yes, I know it's a Zac' version, but I didn't know it was rare.
I will check the size and ask if one of our Zaccaria fans can help me to track that lower door  8)

Old thread, i know.

Question Bruno, do you still have the boardset somewhere ? (with Original roms).

I know somebody who is looking for a dump of the Original Zacc Roms (if there are ofcourse) or are they all midway roms ?

Did they ever do theyre own version, or was it all midway boards that they used in those zaccs ?

the zacc hyper olympics used the Original konami board AFAIK, and i think there where more zacc games that used OEM boards instead of custom zacc boards.
