I was on holliday, and there was a localarcade....there she stood waiting for someone to play with here..i did not know what to think of it :(
First couple of plays were total shit  but after a while i wanted to see more scenes of the game..

Ok Space Harrier, I see you really prefere DRAGON'S LAIR  :P

The first encounter with Dragon's Lair was similar...
I was something like 10 or 12 years old... at the anual kermess party in my village... IT was there, and all  kids was surprised to see that strange game.
It was the first game to cost 20 bef (0.5€), all the others still was at 10bef.
No luck for the firt guys who tried it... the gameplay was so strange and surprising... all the moves had to be discovered and memorized  :?
I never seen anyone defeating the Dragon, even me... the game was too hard and also ... so expensive for a teenager like me

Few years l8ter, Space Ace came out, just side to side to the Dragon's Lair Cab, and I rembemer no one playing it... All the people watched the attract mode, but no one try it... I  did it,  and of course lose a lot of  money, because I wasn't able to see other players on it... but after me, few guys try it and so on...

My preference goes to Space Ace, for the Space Disco ambiance and music... the rythm of the game is betten than Dragon's Lair and Kim is
 so sexy

About the  Ruby-Spears Cartons, I have a big surprise soon
I got all the episode on NTSC vhs tape since more than 3 years, and I'm now able to digitalize them ... Stay tuned for that story  8)

PS : Do you have a website too ?

Just stumbled across your Forum and had to cast my vote!

Naturally it would be rude to do so without registering - so, as I am Ace, I say both are great, but Space Ace wins it for me!

Cheers from the undisputed king of Space Ace Class of '84!

Ace.

Space Ace is one of my fondest memories of my youth! I learned to play it at an arcade in a local holiday camp near my home.

The story is still great fun, and the animation out of this world, er... literally! :)  I think we were all in love with Kimmy at the time!

A couple of years ago I had a friend who worked in an electronics store and he managed to acquire a Philips CDi machine and the official CDi Space Ace port. He remembered I could beat the machine and play every level (remember most levels could be played twice - once as Dexter and once as Ace if you "energized"!) and asked me to play it while he recorded it on VHS. I don't know if the video still exists, but I will ask him sometime, or try to find out if we can record it again and I will convert it into MPEG.

Does anyone know where we can get movie clips of Space Ace? Even just the title sequence would be cool to see again.

Cheers,

Ace!

Hey Ace, nice to see you again here

I played the CDI version too, and in my opinion, it's one of the best arcade conversion of the game, with a real nice MPG1 compression quality... I can remember if the moves were 'arcade accurate'', but who cares
In my golden age, a friend of mine was recorded the sound of the music, while a guy was playing the game in the arcade room... only the sound, but the music is  so great, and the voice of the characters too ... I remember playing that 'sound 1 music' tape in my bed... and dream about the game
It'll be really great if you can find the VHS tape back to live !!! Please let us now...
If you want to revive the experience, take a look on ebay.com, you'll find the PC port for a couple of bucks
BTW, from where R U come from ACE  (I mean which country, sorry for my bad english) ?  :?:
Hope to see you soon  :!:  :!:  :!:

Dragon's Lair all the way!

I like Dragon's Lair because it takes place back in the olden times. I also like it because Dirk is not some whimpy teenager (snicker).
