It's incredible what's happen with the French team   A real shame...!!!  :-X I'm curious to see what will happen with them on the next match...

Indeed, that the teams refuses to do a training, OK, but that the coach is stupid enough to let himself be used to read up a declaration that is written by the PLAYERS is simply incredible. This plus the argue with a player and the co-trainer on the field.....amazing

But not only the French team is poor, also the French referee that did Brazil-Ivory Coast today was very weak. TWO hand-fouls before the 2nd goal for Brazil, a real shame !! And then saying to the player (as if to seek confirmation) he says it was on his sides not his arms......jeez.

Also he allowed WAY too many fouls, he should have sent off some players earlier, now everything escalated......

I must say Brazil looks like the best team so far....

Yes, but I must say the tournament is getting more interesting every day. More goals, (more fouls) and there is more at stake.

I think Argentina is one of the best sqauds, Brazil and Spain

Portugal was great this afternoon  :-*
My wish for the winner : Italy of course, but my bet would be for Mexico or Portugal. May I say I have zero knowledge in football?  ::) ;D
Anyway, it's world cup is very fun to follow  :-* And a lot of surprise are happening...

And it's nice to tease each other a bit here :D

Didn't see the Porugese today, but the number of goals says enough.....at least, when the North-Koreans return (that is, if they are stupid enough to return !), they can go to the North-Korean arcade:

See, I already said the Germans would make it.....Still, Ghana had plenty of opportunities to score.....

It's good to see that the games now sometimes _have_ to be won, it makes the games more interesting.

Mmmm, the Germans weren't as good as the first game(s).....

I bet they beat the British though, sorry UK friends. As said before....the game lasts 2x45 mins and in the end......

In the mean time, arriverderci Azurri.......Sorry Bruno !

France
Italy

Both teams we beat with large figures 2 years ago. The signs were clear already then IMHO.....

I must say the Italians played amazingly weak, especially their strong point (defense) was amazingly poor..... Only when they got 0-2 behind they actually started to play, I mean, why not play from the moment the referee starts the match ?

Now, let's hope the Dutch will do that tonight, even though it doesn't matter anymore, it's time for some beautiful football !

Oh, and I forgot: congrats to our American friends !!! You guys definitely deserved to go on !

and special shame to the algerian supporters in France
that ruined the stadium where the match was displayed on ultra big screen... for free.
I really hate all those hooligans like that only wish to destroy and fight each others.

Football is the only sport/entertainment that accept those behaviour as a necessary devil.
Any other activity would become forbidden for less than such activities.

my 2cts.

French episode of the day :
Henry meets our president today, a guy that earn much money in a week that me in a year
and who performed a nice strike in south Africa.
By the mean time, french strikes against lack of justice in retirements reforms to come.
Of course, none of the strike leaders were invited in the palace of Elysée (were french president lives)

So predient Sarkosy, what side are you on ?
just pathetic...

I've almost forget :
french team of football refuse their 5 millions € image rights prime.
Great news, their performance was so amazing, unforgettable.

I hope the next in the competition will be as good as the preliminary stage :
Many goals and winners that deserve to win.

What a difference with him in the field....the last 20 minutes where FAN-TAS-TIC.

But the referee was a total buttwhipe!

+1 !!! That yellow card for Van Bronkhorst was rubbish !

But OK, here we are the 2nd team to place with the full 9 points......Slovakia, prepare to pack your suitcases ! Can't wait until Monday ! :D

Shame for our Danish friends, I now totally agree with you Michael, Tomasson missed at least 3 DEFINITE goals....even the penalty....I mean....geez, he's much better at Feyenoord ;)

nice matches once again. Keisuke Honda's star is rising.

Today Portugal-Brasil and what about sunday? Germany - England. Great!

The only thing, either Uruguay, USA, Ghana or South Korea will be in the semi finales for sure. Who would have thought that?

Now that was a match....Germany-England....

Sorry for all my English friends though....

I see it this way: modern vs. old-fashioned football. Germany played really well, although the English did have a very good period too, but it was clear who was the best team. The clear goal that didn't get allowed by the referee (is he blind ?) wouldn't have changed it I think...

The German team are more impressive then ever, very good playing, Gee, they have 5 players of Bayer Munchen in the team and......who is the coach there again ?????  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

BUT there is also a risk in their playing..................we'll see what happens next, I guess they will have to play against Argentina....
