Well, I just saw it.

Daft Punk soundtrack was better than what the trailer was hinting at, that's good.

In general, it's pretty good although bordering on kitsch at times.
Some nice references to the original, including the handheld game Flynn plays with in the first movie lying, all dusty, on the couch in his office.

I will be going to see the full thing.

Also, Apple added a clip to their site, Quorra, it was part of the preview shown today:

Yeah, I'm _just_ back from seeing it.

It was great IMHO. If you even are the slightest Tron or even Arcade game fan, you should go see it.

The first part (some "real world" scenes) was not in 3D yet, but will be in the movie.

I saw it in Imax , somehow the 3D didn't "get" me as much as Avatar did, but maybe we're just getting used to it ;)

The CG is great of course, the sound was literarily rocking at some times. Love the new recognizers....

The female co-star is not hurting the eyes by the way ;)

Yes I will definitely go and see it. What greatly disappointed me was the TOTAL lack of ANY further promotion. There was a 3D cardboard set-up of two light-cycles, 3 banners and that was IT. NO freebies, NO introduction from some Disney guy, not even a freaking flyer ! VERY disappointing.

The theater was only half-full by the way. I don't hope that's a sign for the future.... But Holland.....you know, Holland is just not that Sci-Fi minded. Lack of imagination I call it....
There was 0 promotion about this happening (only on the Pathe site). Even I only knew about it through this forum....

O well.....as mentioned in the intro, we were the first people in the world to see some of these scenes.....

The 23 minutes seemed to last like 5, that's a good sign IMHO.....

Same here, no promo at all, didn't even see a cardboard cutout. Just loads of Halloween decorations and paranoid security staff.

Theatre was quite full though and they even clapped at the end, quite rare in Belgium.

And, look, if you have too much money you can buy Oakley Tron 3D glasses to go watch the movie:

Jezus, it's been a long time that I saw a product advertised with SO much marketing bla-bla terms !

Anyway, it isn't a bad idea, a dedicated high quality set of 3D glasses for your own personal use.

I mean, I examine the 3D glasses you get to see if they are actually clean and often (in this case too) dirty and large fingerprints on them !
The "glasses" are actually an el-cheapo piece of flimsy film, I can see that decent and firm (personal) glasses will improve picture quality.

Also, who knows who has been wearing them before you AND they are FAR from comfortable.

However, not all systems work the same way AFAIK. I watched the beginning (which was in 2D) without wearing the glasses, despite that they said that it was "meant to be viewed with 3D glasses". What I noticed is how might light those passive polarized glasses take away, it really hurts the brightness....

Seeing that 3D TV's are starting to sell too now, I can see a future where everyone will have his own set of glasses.

P.S. Even thinking further: maybe we can let our eyes be lasered with a polarization.....that would mean no more glasses at the 3D movies ;)

Ah, you just can buy any Polaroid solar glasses for the theatre then!. Just pick one with a round frame, so you can rotate one lens.

I really HATE the new tron movie. I have not seen it, but the reason I hate it, is because the Tomy Tron handheld is very scarse at auction/classifieds sites right now, and prices skyrocket as people want all Tron poelifinaria they can get. And I want it for my tabletop collection, it's an essential piece!
