Well, let's just hope the force will be with us with those vector babies. The great thing is that I kept my custom-made frame for converging the CRT.

I'm in love with the Gravitar. So far, I've played it a couple times on Mame, but _again_ I got struck by playing Mame and the real thing. It's simply incredible....the zooming in on the planets, the explosions, the game logo, it's a piece of art ! (Not to mention the artwork....)

Great report Erik you even got my with the jokes ;)

Excellent photo-shopping Bruno ! :D

I love Britain, it's beautiful country-side, it's lovely old cottages and pubs, and of course the friendly people !

Yes, that's what Erik meant. They are pretty clumsy when transporting cabs.

For anyone who will need to transport a SW cockpit in the future: uses some wedges. We used some left over planks from Simon that had some extra wood mounted to it and formed excellent wedges). Slide them under the sides but not too far, so that the wheels are just lifted off the floor.

Pssst, I didn't tell my wife yet. Will probably never do. But as I told you, sometimes a man has got to do what a man has got to do. And don't be afraid, you will have lots of chances to lay your hands on the tube, as a matter of fact, I'm counting on you to build it up.  :D  Will be a nice challenge for you, won't it?

I already disassembled the old, low-res tube with the hidious convergence:

What's the best way to clean those filty parts?

@Bruno, André will rehaul the original XY chassis for me.

Yes, it was working, but I was not satisfied with the convergence and with the fact that it is a low-res monitor. Andr;e can tell you all about it.

And because she is special (she as in : my SW cockpit) I decided to get a brand new mid-res monitor which will give me a much better picture and probably also a much better convergence. Of course I'm fortunate to have a vector monitor specialist as a friend

The monitor came from hawkeye, Scotty told me that he only had two of these left, so I guess I'm lucky (I hope). It was not cheap, and shipping and custom clearance costs are a killer, but then again, sometimes a hobby is expensive.

I don't know why, but I just wanted to bump this thread.....it was such an awesome trip !

Did anyone recognize the Hoovercraft in this picture ?
You can see the huge propellors and below is the skirt clearly visible..

Pretty amazing, they were standing there rusting away. I travelled on one of these crossing the channel many years ago. It was a bumpy ride, a bit like a very poor train track. I hope they will keep at least one of them going...but fuel prices are killer for those things....
