Yeah I DEFINITLY want that one too.....but I wait for the color version.

yes, I hope that there will be a color version also, bu that is not sure yet. But if there will be a color version releazed, then I buy that one also.

First print in black, and hopefully second print in color.

yes, I know, but they are still planning to do 2 other books about Atari and they are not a big publishing company. I mean, after all they had to kickstart the capital for the first book, and they might not have enough cash in the end to do a color version.

Book 2 about the history of Atari, starting at the summer of '84 (take over by Jack Tramiel), will probably be out in November this year. And if there will be a color version of the first book depends completely on the possibilty of getting extra funds. This info came directly from one of the authors, Curt.

So you better get this B&W version. It is full of great stories.

Weird.....

If you promise a color version now, you will have people not buying the b/w version because they want to wait. So the book sells less than it can. And then that influences the decision if there will be a color version....

By letting it "in the air" more people will buy the B/W version and once they got it they are less likely to buy the color version.....

Well OK, I'll just get the B/W version than.....let me practice my French (read, use Google translate a lot).....

Must say the price of the book is great considering it's size and the work put in it !

Well, I got the book today, and my first impression is very impressive. 800 Pages full with stories and hundereds of B/W photo´s. This is going to be a long and existing read. Actually, it is not a book, it is thé reference book for Atari history, and then just the first one, there will be two more in the series.  :)

Ordered it too, through Amazon Germany, that was cheaper then UK or France incl. shipping.

It sucks that there is no Amazon Netherlands anymore IMHO.....they gave up too early.....

Can you get the book as epub? The design is shocking, so a text file would be ok. Just concentrate on the read in basic Helvetica or so. In the colophon it says design by stockindesign.com

I'm thrilled because this morning I received my personal grail of arcade books: Martin Amis' Invasion of the Space Invaders.
I won it on ebay for a very very fair price (just google the title to see how much it's worth).

The book is from 1982 so texts and pics are 100% arcade fever lifestyle!
Here are a few pics.
