My gameroom - the construction
« on: November 17, 2009, 07:51:28 PM »
Some of you have seen this thread on Arcadefever, the server who hosted all the pics closed sep. 1. 2009 so i re-named the image path, and decided to post it here also... Enjoy

The shed in by backyard, before it all started... picture taken from my neighbour´s back garden...

The first thing to do, was to remove/destroy the concrete floor in the old shed and move it out to the parked container... 10 tons in all!!!! (22000 pounds)

And now for the plinth, it has to go 90 cm (36 inches) into the ground, but at the same time, i have to get 6 H-iron beams into the ground to support the weight of the roof..

I must say, that is quite fynny to operate a vehicle like that! - it takes some co-ordination, but i leaned it pretty fast 8)

Here´s the foundation finished for the H-iron beames..

It´s a project that takes all summer/autumn - so i will be posting it here... i hope you enjoy :D

09-04-2008

Today i cut of the tubes stikking out of the concrete, so when i poor the rest, it will hold the H-beams in a firm grip. I also plased some tiles in the holes between the colums, so i can begin laying the plinth in the weekend

13-04-2008

My brother was here to help me with the H-beams, and this is the finisher result...
oh - and there was some spectators :D

18-04-2008

Today the beams that will be the main structure of the roof went up, and the rest of the old shed torn down and carryed to the rubbish dump, hard work! - my back hurts :(

Found this little buddy in the wall, so i let him go by my hazelbush..

22-04-2008

Allmost finished with the roof....

27-04-2008

The roof has now been insolated, and plywood has been placed on top.

16-05-2008

Finally the foundation is finished, i´ll remove the pine boards tomorrow so the finished result is easyer to see...

31-05-2008

Well, it´s been a while since any updates, so, the last couple of weeks has come and gone, but finnally i had time to continue on my gameroom  :D  :D  :D

07-06-2008

Just finished one side of my gameroom - so this is how the final result´s gonna look..

22-06-2008

Well, all the wires in the gameroom is installed, and sience last time a door fas found it´s place...

26-06-2008

Finally, i got the floor insolated! - so tomorrow i can lay down the mesh and fasten the heat tubes to it! (yes fred, i need heat in there - sometimes it snows in denmark) so when i go crazy on my arcades im gonna have hot feet!  :D  :D

The mesh to the left!  :mat:

29-06-2008

Well - the floor needs concrete, hopefully that will happen next week..

07-07-2008

Yeah!!! - finally the concrete floor is made!!! wee - now the end of the build can be seen in the distance... :D :D

And the final result... yir baby :D

12-07-2008

Well, the concrete floor is walkable... so the plaster walls is beeing put up..

oh! - heres the plan seen from above... messures in millimeter

19-07-2008

Would have made a litle suprise before i painted the room, and i did - took pictures of it, and when i open the camera to take the CF card out it wasen´t there.... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARH!!!!!!!!!
so, i took a picture of it and altered it in photpshop.....

22-08-2008

Well, it´s been over a month sience the last update...
Im still waiting for the tiles (stupid store maneger!!!!!)

But, the last windows and doors is mounted :D

31-08-2008

Well, the exterior of the room is now 99% finished, had some good weather this weekend  :D

Also the inside with the windows and doors is finished...

So now the "only" thing remaining inside is, tiles, ceiling, power and the bar!!!! - and ofcourse Arcade Machines :D :D  :D  :D  :D
Ouh! btw bought a SEGA Virtua Striker yesterday for 100$!!! - the only thing´s wrong with it is the monitor´s out... maby a cap kit can fix that?? Fred??

03-09-2008

Finnally!!!! - that tiles came yesterday!, and i start laying them today :D :D - tho, while im writing this my back hurts like hell!!!  :(  :(

The progress for today:

06-09-2008

Wohoo! - tiles is layed, nov remains the joint between tham... ill do that tomorrow!

20-09-2008

Tiles and cieling is finished  :wh:  :wh:  :wh: - so now the onlt thing missing is the electricity the machines are feeding on :D :D

Made this cupboard to store my PCB´s....

awesome work, but weren't you scared that one of your dogs would ran through the wet concrete floor? ;D

Looks very nice.. but isn't the cupboard on the small side? but very nice ways to store PCBs.

the more gamerooms I see, the more I need to get working on my own.

Would love to see more pictures as the games move in.

Great! Looking cool.

Personally I like dark arcade rooms more. Yours has many windows.

But nevertheless, I envy you. :-)

I have blinded all the windows so no light can fade the machines!

So you remove the PCB and the "side" that it's mounted on? That is one of the best ideas evvar!
