Some time ago Ully contacted me with the question how far the city "Alkmaar" is located from my place.

I responded that its about 150 Km's, and ofcourse the main question (as curious as i am) "WHY?"

He respondend that he found something on marktplaats.nl..
Here is the add..

Detail pics from marktplaats:

It looked cool to me, so i responded to Ully that i could do a pickup after work, just like i did for Bela in the
Raiders of the lost Zacc Roadtrip. I made an appointment with the seller, and here is whats comming up:

7:15 AM, Time to leave for work..

I love coffee in the morning, and because i was a bit late i did not drink it in the house before i left, but i stopped at the first gasstation

Lets take a walk on the parking place while we are here anyway.

After Worldwar II the moerdijk bridges where the most damaged bridges of the netherlands.
To repair the bridge, parts of other less damaged bridges where used.
The top part was placed in the mid 70's.
it also states that the bridge is still on the supports from the last century.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moerdijk_bridgesI pass that bridge almost every day, and today was the first time i read this sign on the parking place.
Also there is this sign that states that soon i will pass the "0 meter line" and that i will drive under sealevel from then.
at this point i am exactly at sealevel the sign says.

Time to continue my way..
Little traffic jam before the bridge..
I thought the sign said the bridge was repaired..

Well, it turned out that the bridge was not broken and we are driving again

Passing A.C.E. (Arcade Capital of Europe.....)
nah, not yet, we need to wait untill september..

Next stop, another parking place, time to throw the garbage out..

Some bird and ducks are enjoying the good weather..

Arriving in the city "Zoetermeer" I spotted something any arcade lover dont like to see..

A massacre of CRT killing had taken place here !

What are people thinking to use the streets as a garbage dump? i dont get it..

Anyway, after work i started on the second part of the journey to Alkmaar.
Almost 16:00 Lets go !

.
On the way i took a nice "frikandel"

Passing Holland's National Airport "Schiphol"..

Almost there !, just 29 more Kilometers..

Arriving at Alkmaar, i stopped at the central station to get the cash out of the ATM machine.
Lots of Parking-police here

so i needed to get me a parking ticket for just 9 minutes...

The ATM part just took me about 1 minute, lets find a way to spend the other 8 minutes..
What is more appropriate during a roadtrip than Burger King ?

Arrived at the seller, who was just taking his dinner.
Nice guy, he offered me to join them for dinner, but i already eat

Anyway, after his dinner we started with the thing i came for..

After a fast check (see if all the lights work, the tv works, and the Gamecube booted) we started to dissasemble the unit..

That thing is looking not too heavy, but the manual and the add stated 148 KG!
and i can tell you that most of that is in the steel plates on the bottom...

With 2 persons at the back, and 1 in the front we managed to get it into my car..
I confirm the 148 KG..

The TV is close to me on the passengers seat..
Warning ! Bongo's are closer than they appear

Destination set... 1,5 hours ETA..

If you like to join me a part of the way back, just click the pic

You may switch to HD

Because of the weight i called my collegue to help me unload it..

We grabbed a little wagon and dropped it on there.
After that it was easy to drive it into my mothers garage..
She was not home, so this is a little surprise for her from me when she will come home and drive the car in the garage

Game cube and TV was less dificult to unload..

Secured the place by closing the door.
Ready for pickup..

Total 350 Km & +- 13 Hours including detour for work..

To end this story, my mother contacted me later, and after i explaned, she did not have a problem with it beeing there untill pickup..
she knows me a bit longer then today
