TEMPEST CAB - Scratch Built Replica

Ok guys, this project need a new topic .....  




In these days I'm doing some testing .... here my best result with a CRT 21" Vga monitor and Misfitmame (my idea was to use AAE emulator: http://pages.suddenlink.net/aae/ but not support the vertical viewing yet ) and I'm very pleased, I remind you that I've never seen a Tempest machine here in Italy   so....

I've already made a ps2 mouse hack for the spinner, and works very well   :



with the light on:









and with light off, whoooaaa great image quality, LOVE IT

Well, if you live close to Milan, there's a guy who owns a working Tempest machine. You can find him in the Yahoo Group ITVAC, where some of the italian collectors/Mame enthusiasts are.

- Have you enabled the "use antialias vectors" in mame ?

- Do you use the maximum resolution your monitor support ? (1600x1200, right ?)

OK guys time to update this topic:

I post the pics of the packages received for this project:

original control panel with spinner (I've already done the ps2 mouse hack  ) - original glass marquee - original speaker - original marquee retainer (2 pair) - legs leveler - control panel clasp - original Atari Tempest coin door with sticker (need resto).





And today I received 2 packages from Arcadeshop.com:

a wonderfull sidearts set 



and new control panel and marquee arts:

a new 6x9 speaker shielded 8 Ohm (the original one sound bad  ) - 2 Atari short black button cone - 2 Atari tall black button cone - 2 new push button leaf switch black and 2 Tempest spinner bushing set 

 
PS: A request ..... the original Tempest control panel used tall or short start button cone?


Ok I've everything I need for the project .... I can start to put the plan on paper
