although it's not completely unusable, i'd prefer to replace the black leather-style t-molding on my joust 2 cab, however the one that t-molding.com carries is only a poor imitation of the original >:(
does anyone know where to get THE ORIGINAL???

The arcade boneyard maybe (http://thearcadeboneyard.com/T-Moulding.html) ?
the third one says
25 ' 3/4 Leatherette
Black T-Moulding
$12.50
dont know if this is the kind you are looking for ?

thx etienne, but this looks like the one from t-molding.com. i'll post some pics soon for comparison!

alright, here we go.
first off, the almost brain-esque original joust 2 t-molding

next up, the pretty much flat t-molding.com leather-style type

and both of them in "head to head battle"

anyone???

I had the same thing with my Galaxian, although the original leathered T-molding of that one looked much more like the "current" version and not as "rought" as your original.
Is that Joust-2 a US built machine or Euro (wonder if there ever were Euro Joust 2's, I don't really think so). My (Euro) Joust seems to have the same leathered T-molding as your original.
Maybe the molds have just worn out after 25 years ?
Try KLOV forum, probably more chance on a good answer there. I doubt there will be any alternatives.....
Sometimes, you have to compromize a bit....

its hard to imagine how you create that t mold by extruding alone, the 'brainesque' one looks almost as if it was heated and bubbled up, may be worth experimenting with plain black t mold and a heat gun ( take care of fumes )
