Title: Philips power supply/transformer
Post by: slowcade on February 25, 2009, 01:30:08 PM
I have acquired an original Philips 22VP932 laser disc player without power supply.
I already have a semi-working VP835. The two players are supposedly very alike, so I was wondering if I could use the power supply from the VP835 in the 22VP932. I know that the 22VP932 originally used 110V input, and the 835 uses 220V. But what matters most, should be the output from the power supply to the player. Do any of you know?

How does the 22VP932 get its 110V inside the Atari Dragon's Lair cabinet?

vp835 is 220v

22vp932 is 110v

before make some change contact

Matteo or Any maybe know who to help you..

Ps=voltage shoud be given by the power supply (and converter ) inside the cab in every way since it gives voltage to all the parts of the game: mb, lights, 2 monitor, etc

Anyway all these info inside the operation manual of the DL..

Yes, the internal transformer output voltage to the power supply is the same, around 30 V AC. If you are not sure, check with a meter before swapping them. Download the service manual and check the power supply section : http://www.dragons-lair-project.com/tech/ldguide/philips.asp (http://www.dragons-lair-project.com/tech/ldguide/philips.asp)
You'll see that the same transformer can accept different input voltages (220, 240, 110, 120) depending on how it's wired.

How does the 22VP932 get its 110V inside the Atari Dragon's Lair cabinet?

There's a step down transformer inside the cabinet. Again, check the Atari schematics and wiring diagram : http://www.dragons-lair-project.com/tech/pages/dl.asp (http://www.dragons-lair-project.com/tech/pages/dl.asp)

Bye, Matteo
