Hi,
I'm looking for a foot pedal assembly for a Buck Rogers cockpit. It looks like this...
...with a foot pedal on the other side ;)
Thanks,
Paul.
-
So you need the whole assembly or just the small pcb?
hm, maybe there are other cabs with the same pedal....did you check that?
-
The whole thing. The PCB I can live without as I can make one up (it's very simple), but I need the mechanicals at least.
I've no idea what might have used this type of pedal - open to suggestions if you have them ;)
Paul.
-
We're talking about a Zaccaria Buck Rogers, right?
This one?
(Picture borrowed from KLOV)
-
Yeah, but there is a good chance the original Sega foot pedal would be fine and is far more likely to find ;)
Paul.
-
Stay tuned....I don't want to promise too much but that pedal assembly might be avaliable soon ;)
-
I m always happy to see my buck rogers... i ve been quite stupid to give it away
-
Yeah, you were :D

I dont regret selling machines, the only exception was my Judge Dredd. Ill never find a DMD pinball for that price anymore.....200 euro and a bit extra to restore it.......stupid stupid me.....
Not blaming the buyer though !!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

I was starting collecting cabs. I had no classics at all, only italian low quality bootlegs. And i did nt know the value of a so unique game so i decided to trade it for my asteroids... my first roadtrop and the first time i met speleo... we are talking about 5 girlfriens ago...
-
....we are talking about 5 girlfriens ago...
LOL.....you said it you Italian lady killer ;););)
Hey, you gained a good number of friends in the hobby through that deal then.....and the cab has a very good home :)
-
Yes that s true, although i dunno where that cab is now
-
Yes that s true, although i dunno where that cab is now
You don't wanna know that ...
-
Oh oops....I thought that Paul had bought it from you but then......oh no.........
Don't tell me the one we saw ruined in that "Vossen" arcade was yours Marco..........
-
Speleo, is André's guess correct?
I've got the pedal assy. It wasn't that easy due to rusted screws but the hardest job was....tadaa....the very last screw I had to remove to get the metal piece that holds the pedal to the wooden base. The little bugger didn't move more than 2 turns then the head was ruined. I had to put a screwdriver underneath and bend it up so it breaks loose from the wood. The metal piece was bended....sorry :( But I think it's an easy job to make it straight or even make a new one. I also removed the metal case for the coin box. I will take pics so you can tell me what can be useful for you. There was nothing else left, the controlpanel was gone as well....I've been too late, sorry :-\ There was nothing to see what you could identify as being a part of the sides...and they are very unique. Maybe someone liked them and he decorated his wall with it :?
I will take pictures monday evebing and post the on tuesday.
Do you have a thread with your Buck Rogers project? What else is missing?
-
Hi Luigi,
I don't have a restoration page up yet as I've just started looking at this cab. What's missing:
* The foot pedal assembly.
* The back door.
* The blanking metal plates that cover the cut-outs that are on either side of the control panel. One is fitted, one is missing. About 4" by 8" held in with 4 screws.
I'm not sure I see these on Buck Rogers so it might have been a design that was only used on the Universal edition of the cab. Therefore, they may not be present on the cab you were looking at if it was dedicated Buck Rogers.
* The PCB mounting plate and PCB.
* The back artwork perspex cover panel and instruction card inserts.
* The coin box cover and coin basket (this is the cash box door that's underneath the coin door). On this cab, it looks like a plate cover with no hinge.
What it would be good to have spares of:
* The IGR power supply brick.
* The wiring loom, particularly board side.

Mines not a Buck Rogers - it a Universal Cockpit, like this one...
http://www.zzzaccaria.com/images/Adverts/1984%20-%201.jpg (http://www.zzzaccaria.com/images/Adverts/1984%20-%201.jpg)
...that seems the same as a Buck Rogers cockpit but without the Buck Rogers specific artwork peices (back marque & instruction cards). I'm going to make it a Buck Rogers as I can't seem to find another game that would fit this cab properly.
Many thanks, Luigi, it would have been very difficult to find the pedal for this cab!
Paul.
PS: Are you saying that the cab that was wrecked was Marco's old Buck Rogers cab? :'(
-
So you have the yoke and just need plates from the controlpanel?
I don't think there was a dedicated Buck Rogers cockpit from zaccaria. IMHO they were built into these awesome cabs :)
Sorry, no wiring, no electronics (except that small pcb on top of the pedal assy) :(
I will take a picture from the stuff I removed from the wooden base so you see what I have.
-
I think i have a sega pedal assembly. Metal only.
Board is very very rare. If you want i can send you some not working boardsets i used
...yes vossen had mine but what the hell happened? I miss latest news
-
Yes, these plates that go here, if they exist:

...and the cash box door...
The back door looked like it was behind the cab in the original video posted, but I can make one myself if it's gone now.
If the pedal was all that survived, that's really the only bit that's critical.
Thanks again for taking the time and effort to get it!
Paul.

Thanks for the offer of boards, Marco. I have only one untested set and will likely need to repair it so I would like to take you up on your offer of the left over none-workers you have.
Paul.
-
Oh oops....I thought that Paul had bought it from you but then......oh no.........
Don't tell me the one we saw ruined in that "Vossen" arcade was yours Marco..........
Dont you remember that Paul's is the one from the jukebox shop in vlaardingen ? ::)
-
There is this picture where I recognized the yoke. The controlpanel was gone but it seems it was different from yours anyway :-\
But as you can see te lower door is there :)
-
Yeah, the control panel on mine is trimmed down on both sides to reveal two factory cut-outs. The blanking plate on the left looks home made, so I wonder if it shipped with a full cover with an intent for operators to cut down the plastic molding to use them? Never seen the manual for the cockpit...
Since Buck Rogers does not use the two side cutouts, I need to do one of two things:-
* Reproduce two blanking plates or a continuous under-panel to re-cover them.
* Find a complete control panel molded plastic cover that's not cut down.
The control panel of the wrecked one is now gone? That was a complete one and I could have used that to replace my cut down one. I only needed the molded plastic cover, not the flight stick itself :( Ah well, maybe it'll turn up one day :(
And I've a feeling I might be missing that strip of metal along the top of the control panel shown in your picture. The monitor glass is out on mine so I'm not sure how it's supposed to be put together yet.
Yes, that's the cash box door. There are screws that hold it in, if you grab it, please keep the screws :) Yay!
Thanks, Luigi.
Paul.

Yes in this case I actually do remember that but......I thought Paul had that one (a generic Zacc cockpit) _and_ a Buck Rogers cockpit....
-
Marco's one was the only Buck Rogers I know of. I wanted it of course but it fell beyond my grasp in the end :|
The remaining cockpits I've seen turn up have been Universals.
Paul.
-
really guys, what happened?
that was my BR, I recognize the key-chain and the CP I re-made
-
:'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
-
Paul, did you find the pedal?
Do you want this?
It's SEGA, unknown working conditions.
-
Ah, these are the boards I'm going to send you
sorry for the flash...
One board is damaged for sure; one chip is missing. I bought ages ago these boardsets and I mixed parts in order to have one working so I suppose the rest are not working :O
-
Marco, I removed the pedal assy from the arcade junkyard ;)
Just didn't find the time to take pictures of the stuff I have...sorry, Paul :(
But this Sega pedal looks like the one I got. Minus the part where the foot is supposed to be ;)
edit: Marco, should we make a large package to go to USA? I have the pedal assy, the coin box assy and I assume the bare controlpanel.
-
ok I wait instructions from Paul if to put it in the shipping I'm preparing
-
It's probably heavy, so I'd say let Luigi send me the original Zac parts to start with, thus I'm OK with just the boards from Vernimark, thanks :)
Luigi, I don't suppose you kept or found the strip that goes along the top of the control panel molding? It's probably a black metal strip - it was in the original picture.
Thanks again for finding thes parts, it's a great help :)
Paul.

It is so sad that Marco's Buck Roger's was destroyed in the Vossen's tragedy......but still good to know at least some parts survived and help bring back this one to life.....
