Title: Reproducing a marquee?
Post by: Thwocker on October 24, 2014, 03:31:57 PM
Hi

I'd like to reproduce my broken Cosmic Monsters II marquee

Found a picture op it online, the colors appear somewhat fainted:

http://www.ggdb.com/Picture.aspx?c=Coin-Op&s=Arcade&y=1979&vid=8036&p=9980 (http://www.ggdb.com/Picture.aspx?c=Coin-Op&s=Arcade&y=1979&vid=8036&p=9980)

Can anyone help with a source to get the colors right and print this on plexi.

Thanks!

I am in the process of reverse printing some stuff, if you can provide a vector file, i can take it in the same run.

at the moment i dont have time to vector it myself, perhaps one of the graphic dudes here can make a vector ?
(spinnhacker or aioros are very good vector guys IMHO  ;) if they have time and are in the mood to do it, i dont know.. but one can Always ask  :P)

Hi Marco,

I can make the vector file for you if you want.
Couldn't find decent photo's of the original marquee online so far, all small and faded.
Yours (or what's left of it) seems to have the best colors.

Since there aren't any good pictures of it on the internet,
it would be best if you can take your marquee out of the cabinet.
Clean it and remove the sticker residue on the top left corner.
Photograph it in good light conditions without flash or reflections and measure width and height.
That way I have the best start for drawing a new one.

Size of the marquee is:

155 x 598 mm

made out of really thin plexi, like 2 mm or so
