Title: 280 zzzap
Post by: level42 on November 14, 2013, 10:35:12 PM
Has anyone ever seen a 280 zzzap , both recently and BITD ?

It was one of the first videogames I played and it impressed me a lot, as a boy there is really only one thing you want and that is driving a car......and this impressed me more than the EM racing games.

I thought it was a pretty common game, I don't recall seeing any Atari Night Drivers though, but I have never seen any 280 zzzap's since I started this hobby....and it surprises me.

I see one every time I go down to my basement  ;D

Take a look at Arcadezentrum, there is one for sale, plus other cool stuff: http://www.arcadezentrum.com/forum/showthread.php?20939-Garage-Voller-cabs!

I never saw this one BITD, though, arcade games didnt really interest me at that time.
First game I clearly remember was Bubble Bobble in a generic cab.. (Sorry for derailing)
I think i saw one at the Danish Arcade Museum last time I was there, and I have a pcb set somewhere in The Shed...

Wow....got a name ?

That sale in Germany looks like they are selling out the very first "arcade" that I frequented, I mean the games-hall at a camping site in Zeeland in the late 70s !!!!

Not at the moment, but the guy lives very close to my brother.. he also gave me a spare monitor, which was included in the sale of my pole position.

I'm not 100% sure sure it's the same cabinet, but the gameplay looks exactly the same.

Hey Pieter,

The guy you bought your PP from indeed still has the 280 ZZZap, in fact, he's scanning some artwork for Phet's 280 right now :)

I asked if it would be possible to have it at RGE/Eurocade 2014 and he said Yes, but he has to bullet proof it first because he doesn't think it would survive two days of continues play.....well he still has plenty of time :)

IMHO it would be an awesome addition (we really need more bronze age games) and it's close to S&V :)
