Title: yet another verni resto: HELI FIRE
Post by: vernimark on March 30, 2013, 06:31:49 PM
after more or less one year HELI FIRE PCB works so I decided to restor the cocktail

coin door had been broken and all the cocktail has been damaged all around the coin door edges.
first of all I decided to repair the hole, then I rebuilted the coin door much more similar to the original I was able to
everything has been painted

the "brown" I used is a little bit different to the original, I have the w.e. in order to think what to do: look for another color or paint everything with this new color. It is more omogeneous and a little bit darker.

The insert plate has been painted with a special spray "chrome effect"

how close it that to the original look? i have a few scratches plates myself, but never found a spray close to the original. and unfortunately, getting original parts these days is difficult, because they manufacturer doesn't deal with private persons anymore  >:(

nope, unfortunately not! his supplies have almost dried out, i got the last plates from him, but now they are gone - and i would still need a few. it's a shame i didn't "enter the nintendo cab business" earlier, otherwise i would have ordered more ..

as i've said before: they just look different when painted, although i'd love to see some closeup shots of marco's plates!

This spray is good for small parts. I used it for my superbreakout coin door too. You need a lot of try to dry it but the result is not bad
