Title: Anyone wants Steve Ritchie's first Atari machine ?
Post by: level42 on July 14, 2012, 01:18:17 AM
Let me know....

We met Steve at SLAM (Pieter had a nice chat with him IIRC).

His last job was AC-DC pinball at Stern. He has done lots of games...both pinball and video games.

So if anyone wants to own some arcade history, let me know...

(oh, and a certain Eugene Jarvis worked on it too :P)

Sorry for the crappy mobile phone pics...

I am still not used to see the Atari logo on a pinball machine.....I only found out they actually did pinballs when I started in this hobby...

Nice owl eye coindoor.

I guess you really need to be a hardcore Atari collector for this.

Here's what it should look like:

Actually I think it's quite a fun pinball to play. At first it seems slow and boring but once you warmed up and got into the game it can be quite entertaining. I especially enjoy it after having had a few games on the Indiana Jones pinball. After the audio-visual overkill of a more modern pin a 70's game seems rather relaxing  ;D
Plus the artwork is just beautiful.

Yup, anything Opperman did was art.

Read that some owners put it up higher a bit on the back to speed the game up...

The only Atari pinball I played was the Hercules and it was at that very same company. It was many many years ago, when I just started in this hobby. I thought it completely sucked, the Slllllllloooooooooowwwwwwwweeeeeeesssssssssttttttt pinball I ever played.......yawhn.

That was the same visit where I saw about six or so funny little videogame tables with a red metal hood and two screens on each side.......seller told me they were NOS. They came from the Stena line (a ferry service between Holland and the Uk). They were never used because they weren't electrically tested according to Dutch (or British?) laws.......one of these is now in Gyruss' home :) I failed to see what they had there, I could have earned a nice sum of money on them....

Don't know anything bout the others Atari pins though..

This is at the same seller as the other thread I just made so it's definitly for sale.

Being an Atari fan I love all the logos everywhere and of course the Opperman art but no pins for me anymore....
