Guys, sometimes a small community achieves something really big, and that´s why I wanted to let you know about a great new game center in Holland, The Nozomi Game Center.

And one of the initiators of this new game center is our own member Psykick. :spaceace: :spaceace:
If you understand Dutch, then you can read more about it here: http://forum.nozomi.nl/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3963&p=44606#p44606
In short it says that some Dutch Nozomi members took the initative to create a Game center in Zoetermeer, The Netherlands and it is open every Friday and or Saturday evening for ´Nozomi Game Center´ members. There will also be special events, storage facilty for members, Game repair services, etc. The great thing is that everybody can be a member after a yearly donation of € 39. Some might think that this is quite an amount, but bear in mind that you get a lot for it. And also don´t forget that a lot of costs for the initiators is involved, like building rent, energy costs, etc.
Sure, there will be plenty of Candy to play on :) And some may not like that idea ;D ;D But still, it´s a great initiative, not yet seen in Holland. I´m pretty excited.

Wow, just checked out the link you provided and it looks awesome. A really cool initiative for sure! I usually spend my holidays in Singapore and there they still have arcade-halls with those candy cabs there. They really are fun (in a very different way from the classics most of us here spent our time on) to play. I think I will be joining soon :)

Great initiative, I'm seriously considering a membership although i probably won't be there very often..
-
Great initiative!
Now persuade him to add few classics too ;)

39€/Year is really cheap. even at 39€/month that would be damn cheap !! just cannot imagine all the electric bills/fees/rent/insurance all this can require etccc

Indeed, brilliant idea !

There is a section with classic game consoles, like the NES, SNES, etc. I don´t know about classic arcade games, it´s pretty much all about Japanese Arcade Gaming, which makes it so unique. :D But there are a few pinball machines, too, and a table tennis table, and lots of other stuff.
I joined right away of course, although, like Gyruss, I probably won´t be able to come often, perhaps once every two months or so. It´s not only about gaming what makes it so great, but also about seeing friends. A bit like Eurocade and other party´s we visit regularly.

I had a great evening tonight at the Nozomi Game Center. I played some nice games, including Nemesis, which was mine and had just been repaired by a Nozomi member, and I had a great time seeing my friends again and having fun together.
For all the guys remotely interested in Japanese Arcade Gaming (and I know of at least one of you who since recently also owns a Candy cab ;) ), or just wants to have a good time with other arcade lovers, I recommend a visit to the NGC. They are almost every Friday and Saturday evenining open, and they have an open house on 24 August.

I would have come with you yesterday if I didn't have another appointment. But they are pretty close to me so I'm sure I'll make it in the not too distant future...

Uhhh....were kinda busy that Friday like with setting up Eurocade !

Whats the story behind the name Nozomi.?For me Nozomi was the only train not covered by the Japan Rail Pass. It was the uberhighspeed nonstop Tokyo-Nagoya-Osaka black suit train.
