So i needed some switches....
and Ully too for his vindicators..
Time to slaughter this Keyboard out and get me some !

A few screws and it pops right open, no trouble here :)

Lets start to extract the keys from the switches,
after my fingers started to hurt, i tried a new method:
place the pliers, some pressure, and then....

The key flies into the garden in my case ;D

Keys removed..

Time to desolder a few joints....

Some new tin to start the flowing...

and pictures say more than 1000 words.. :)

halfway there ..

Hmm, the desolder iron stops sucking, maybe the tincatcher is full ?

Okay al done..

And here the example why i love a desolder tool...
the PCB comes off like it was never soldered..

Cool, I piad 15 usd/piece for my Vindicators part 2, please don't say anything. ;D :'(
-
what an effort, etienne! :-*
the big question is: are they going to fit?
-
The look identical to the ones I have and they do fit, you have to make the legs thinner with some side cutters before they will fit into the small PCBs but after that they fit fine.
-
i dont know if they fit, but i would say mess up a few while experimenting, there are enough swithces here i think ;D
and they are designed to be heavily used, i mean imagine how many times you press them while typing a few years...
lets see what happens and let me know what the results are, i am very curious if this creative solution turns out to be a value of 104 keys x 15$ ... :o

To save you some time and keep you from clogging the Pace, try a heat gun (paint stripper) next time.Heat up the solder side of the Pcb, tap it on the table and the switches will probably fall off undamaged. At least, it worked like a charm in the nineties.

Yeah, that was what I was thinking....may need to add some flux though...
In 2098, someone will find this thread and post "OMG, you ruined a classic computer keyboard"....... ;D ;D ;D ;D
