I fully understand your frustration, I had the same on a Belgian forum regarding Eurocade. But Belgium is "around the corner" for Eurocade.
However, Blackpool is simply not the best location to reach for us mainland Europeans.
There are no big airports in the are (which makes flying there cheap). And by car it's a LONG trip from the tunnel....
And again, november means birthday of my wife and me (no not the same day, but almost ;)) and some other arcade related stuff...
-
manchester airport!!!
-
I would love to go there, but because of other obligations and things timing is bad in November. If it was more nearby I definitely would hop over for a day, but I don't have the time to 'burn' a weekend.
My only hope is that someday the event will take place in another month, October for instance. And that it maybe would be moved to a more central place in the UK.
Fortunately Retrogamer magazine will attend and cover this year's event again, so I will read about it.

I guess we "buggers" have the same problems as the UK guys had with coming over to Eurocade...
Enjoy the show, looks awesome.
-
I wouldve but i have no passport!!
would love to meet you euro 'buggers'!!
However i do have friends coming over from belgium for this and their flights were cheeeeeeeeeap!
-
Dunno if calling the members on a European site "foreigners" is the best way to go about getting them to attend :P
Does look like it will be a good meeting, especially from the Pin side, think they're up to a 100 or more now! Other commitments mean I can't make it (mainly childcare ones), really wish I could.

Dont worry i will have a complete road trip of the whole weekend!!!
-
It sure looks nic, but cannot attend :-[
-
I wouldve but i have no passport!!
A European identity card is enough for travel within the EC, oh and yes, the UK are (still) part of it.
would love to meet you euro 'buggers'!!
...and thus you are a Euro bugger just as much as we are....
I always find it funny how UK people tend to see them as something separate from Europe.
Although I sympathize greatly with most of the anti-Europe feelings over there _and_ you guys are on an island, you are still geographically still a part of Europe. Start to accept it... :D

The UK doesn't have ID cards. There's no obligation to carry proof of ID on your person.
So if you want to travel abroad, you need to get a passport.

1:53: That's me playing the Juno First! I'm the guy in the black cap. 8)
Had a great time at Replay. Went over by all by my lonesome and ended up meeting loads of nice people. Oh, and not to forget: I played some really nice games too. Spent a lot of time on the Gottlieb Juno First. It is pretty much my holy grail now.
