Morning y'all,
In order to be a replica of the master of scratch build replica's :D I'm planning to build a Dig Dug cabinet. I got most of the parts right ordered and underway, but now I need to know what thickness the sidepanels are. Is there anyone around here with some spare time left to take the measurement on his cabinet?
Thanks in advance!
Barry

Hey!
I have a deticated Dig Dug UR, and i would gladly measure but i don´t know what you mean by side panels... do you mean the sides?? (where the sideart is??)
-
Hi Muerto,
Super if you can help me. Yes, the panels where the sid art is attached. Is this 15mm? or 18mm?
Grtz,
Barry

Just measured it and it´s 19½/20 mm...
I can provide a pic if you want?
-
Well... If it's not to much of trouble you could really help me out by sending a few pics from the side, front and back if you like.
Your help has been great already. Thanks a lot!

I really like your gameroom and hope to have something simular in the future. Do you have more footage?

Hi Muerto,
Some other questions, so if you have the time:
1) Is the kickpanel painted black or is it black vinyl?
2) The white of the sides, is this glossy or satin? Painted or vinyl?
3) What type of speaker is used? Could you make a picture of it?
4) What's the depth of the panel the speaker is in?
5) Can you make a picture of the bezel retainers?
I know, lot of questions, but you would really help me out here!
Thanks in advance!
Barry

i have a question,
i see many scratch builders cutting the sides separate, wich takes sanding afterwards to get them even
why not cut two layers in one go ?
this saves a lot of sanding time i think
maybe there is a reason to do them separate, muerto, as a carpenter, can you explain why not to cut two layers in on go ?
-
Funny that you ask this, I was wondering the same thing... In my opninion the stroke of my jigsaw is big enough to do this in one go. So Muerto, is there a reason why not to do this at once?
-
If you have a router, it´s easyer to cut on side and make it perfect.
afterwards place the newly cut side under a new piece of MDF, then it´s simply to use a router with a cutting iron fitted with a ball bearing and you´re home free.....
-
no offence, but that was not the question ;D
-
it´s easyer the way i do it.....
