Title: FS: Starwars cockpit [SOLD]
Post by: Alpha1 on January 19, 2010, 12:04:01 AM
Pix: http://www.ultrax.org/alpha1/SW%20Cockpit/

Is complete but missing 25" Amplifone tube. I have the yoke. It is extremely dirty but should clean up ok - please notice the corner damage....

Expect the boardset not to work and the HV and Deflection boards to have issues :-) and we'll get along fine!

Offers via PM.

Oliver

That looks like it needs a lot of TLC.
But it's doable.

New 25" tube from the US = expensive though.

your senses are working properly, etienne, but i won't be going on a SW cockpit roadtrip. ;) seeing all the work that andrĂ© had to put into his and the technical difficulties he had to overcome i have to admit i'm simply not up for a task like that. i'd probably take a working SW cockpit though  :)

I wonder if it would be interesting to buy this, fix it up and sell again... very likely not...

Uh, I just read this again and thought it could be wrongly interpreted. What I meant was if it would be _financially_ interesting to buy this (and a 25" mid-res CRT) and restore the whole cab and then try to sell it (with at least your time covered in a added value)

This cab should be picked up by a collector who can do at least some of the work himself.
So in no way was it meant to say that this cab "is not worth it". If you look through the dust there is a very restorable machine there.

Yeah I know what you meant don't worry.

I have 2 other SW cockpits anyhow and need space and money so this project has to go.
